Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 2105hrs LZ Liz at 2105hrs received 15 to 20 rounds of 82mm mortar with result 3 WHA Evac and 1 WHA (M).
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1045hrs Delta Company 19th Engineer at BS821345 mine sweep team engaged unknown size enemy force and call gun ships to cover them with results 1 US WHA (M). At 1232hrs E Trop 1 Cav at 898269 detonated 35 pound pressure type mine with results 4 US WHA (M) and APC was combat loss. At 1520hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer Follow Up at BS822345 Results: 2 NVA KIA, 1 RPG with B-40 rocket launcher and 1 AK-47 along with documents.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and with security of bridges with local ambushes last night and today.
Bravo Company
March 3, 1969
Bravo Company secured LZ Liz last night, today 1 Platoon south of LZ Liz at 1000hrs Vicinity BS767418 Bravo Company found 4 VC KBA by Artillery last night. At 1230hrs vicinity BS7641 and Bravo made heavy contact with an unknown size NVA Force. At 1230hrs Bravo Company at BS762408 received small arms and automatic fire. Results Total: US 1 US KHA, 4 MHA, 7 WHA (E). At 1750 Bravo Company still in contact along with E Troop 1-1 Calvary have one WHA each (E) Bravo Company (-) joined contact with Platoon (-), E Troop 1-1 Calvary, Bravo Company 3-1 Infantry conducted Combat Assault from BS722544 to BS750412 completed at 1811hrs and LZ cold in support of Bravo Company. There were 7 air Strikes from 1210hrs to 1725hrs on the enemy location. At 1745hrs Bravo Company reports continued contact and at BS765410 add 6 NVA KIA with all MHA have been recovered. SP4 CALVIN EDMUNDS, SGT DEAN WARD MOEHRING, SP4 DUANE CARL PAEPKE JR., SGT LESTER RAY STONE JR, SP4 RONALD CHARLES THIEX, LISTED AS KHA. (SGT LESTER RAY STONE JR was awarded with the Congressional Medal of Honor). WHA Bravo Company Purple Hearts awards 1SGT Donald K. Winter, SP4 David E. McClure, SP4 Joe E. Garlinger, SP4 Gregory J. Kind, SP4 Samuel L. Mitchell, SP4 Cornelous Grace. Along with E Troop 1-1 Calvary SP4 Donald L. Knowlton awarded with Purple Heart.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued the Security of LZ Thunder with local ambushes, today with 1 Platoon conducts a Recon in Force vicinity BS8734 and BS9634. At 1125hrs Charlie Company at BS873346 request Dust Off for 1 US Non Battle Casualty, shot himself in hand, accidentally Dust Off completed at 1335hrs.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued the Security Mission for LZ Dragon last night and today 1 Platoon conducted a Combat Assault from LZ Dragon to Vicinity BS640535 completed at 1050hrs and LZ cold. Then will conduct a detail search for body that was missing Recon Secured LZ Liz last night.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Charlie Brown, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense.
