Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0925hrs MACV the PF will have men out cutting bamboo in vicinity BS807356 until 1800hrs today. At 0955hrs PF spotted people on top of LZ OD in black PJ. At 1050hrs sent 2 sharks to check out LZ OD for 1-20 Infantry also sent 1 chopper to lift platoon of troops into area. At 1325hrs OP on Tripoli at BS875392, observed barge 2000 meters off shore on azimuth of 1500 mils moving southeast, swift boats called to check. At 1600hrs 1-20 Infantry E Troop reported that an element from engineers got ambushed approximately 300 meters north of bridge 104 at BS883303, fire came from east side of road. E Troop is moving to check it out results Delta 19 engineers had 1 WHA (minor). At 2115hrs 1-20 Infantry observed lights to northwest of LZ Thunder think it possible mortar site, will mortar position at BS803335.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
March 3, 1968
At 0830hrs Alpha Company at BS846306 found 1 Claymore booby trap, 1 US hand grenade booby trap both destroyed. At 1105hrs Alpha Company is located at BS843308 spotted 3 VC evading, results 1 VC WIA CIA, Dust Off requested completed at 1115hrs. At 1127hrs Alpha Company also found 2 dud 105 rounds and will destroy in place. At 1240hrs Alpha Company at BS835305 picked up 2 VC female, 1 had bottle of gunpowder in house, other was visiting, are en route to Bronco POW cage. At 1452hrs Alpha Company at BS855300, found numerous medical supplies in house, gauze, cotton, sterile masks, indications of hospital in area, are questioning 2 old men. At 1552hrs Alpha Company found possible ambush site, foxhole with fire ports facing down trail. At 1725hrs Alpha Company at BS717801 moving across river at this time, found expended M-16 rounds, nothing else. At 1935hrs Alpha Company at BS845305 spotted light on hill where sniper fire has been reported coming from previously. At 1935hrs Alpha 3rd Platoon received sniper fire from northeast and returned fire with M-79 with unknown results.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company is finished their Stand Down at LZ Bronco and moving to take over the Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 1105hrs Bravo Company vicinity BS843308 engaged 3 VC evading with results 1 VC WIA and CIA. At 1500hrs Bravo Company reports 2nd Platoon on bridges with 3rd Platoon at BS882314 reports found a tunnel possible recently use, nothing inside, request permission to destroy.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company till OPCON to TASK Force Barker continued their Security Mission for LZ Dottie and using multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 2000hrs Charlie Company ambushes are at their locations, BS655849, BS667848, and BS672843.
Delta Company
March 3, 1968
Delta Company moved to LZ Bronco for the start of a 3-day stand-down. The first day clean all crew weapons and personnel equipment and weapons. Turn in all equipment in need of repair and service to supply room including our Starlight scopes for servicing.
Echo Company
March 3, 1968
Echo Company and 4.2 platoon where located on LZ Thunder to provide direct support to the Battalion. Recon Platoon is located at LZ Thunder and at 1600hrs Recon Platoon reports their located in the vicinity of Bridge 109. At 1855hrs Recon Platoon located at BS790314 has adjusted Artillery fire and requested Sharks on VC and unable to confirm any KIA.
