Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
July 3, 1968
At 0840hrs Alpha Company at BS751336 and at 1000hrs Alpha Company is at BS753325. /at 1003hrs 1-20 Infantry requested 2 dogs with handlers to work with Alpha Company will pick up at southeast pad at 1100hrs. At 1200hrs Alpha Company 10 is at BS746323, 20 at BS742323, 30 at BS747325, 31 at BS752324, 40 and Command Position at BS748325. At 1400hrs Alpha Company is located at BS748325. At 1600hrs Alpha Company is at BS763320. At 1815hrs Alpha Company established their Night Defense Position at BS762318, 10 BS756316, 20 BS756320 and 30 BS762321.
Bravo Company
July 3, 1968
Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 0840hrs 1st Platoon Bravo Company is moving out at the base of LZ Thunder, with the 2nd Platoon and Command Post is located at LZ Thunder and the 3rd Platoon is at BS827394 and Bravo 12 at BS842363. At 1000hrs 1st Platoon and Command Post is located at BS842309, 13 at BS850306, 30 at BS813403, and 20 at LZ Thunder. At 1017hrs Bravo Company at BS850301 received 2 rounds M-79 and possible 3 rounds semi automatic fire M-1 with the maneuvering unit into Position vicini838312. At 1110hrs Bravo Company at BS851323 observed 1 VCS evading, fire a warning shot. The VCS still evaded and Command and Control Helicopter picked up the VCS and took him to their POW Cage. The VCS 18-22 white shirt and black shorts. At 1815hrs Bravo Company locations is as follows 10, 20, Command Post at LZ Thunder, 30 Night Defense Position at BS822403 ambushes at BS819401.
Charlie Company
July 3, 1968
At 0840hrs Charlie Company locations is as follows 1st Platoon at BS854275, 2nd Platoon at BS865273, and 3rd Platoon at BS866276. At 0901hrs Charlie Company engaged with M-60 at 500 to 600 meters, negative results, sending element to that location. At 1010hrs Charlie Company locations is as follows 1st Platoon Command Post at BS860272, 11 at BS857273, 2nd Platoon at BS857270 and 3rd Platoon at BS870275. At 1815hrs Charlie Company moves into their Night Defense Position at BS883270 with 10 at BS886267, 20 at BS880264, and 30 at BS882274.
Delta Company
July 3, 1968
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and at 0840hrs 10 and Command Post at Charlie Brown, Delta 20 at BS910202 with 22 on Bridge 94 and Delta 30 at BS914264 with Delta 12 at Bridge 94. At 1000hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon at BS916212, 1st Platoon and Command Post at LZ Charlie Brown, 3rd Platoon at BS908265. At 1815hrs Delta 20 Command Post is at Charlie Brown with Delta 10 at BS886267, 20 at BS880264 and 30 BS882274.
Echo Company
July 3, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they continue to provide direct fire support for the Battalion. At 1203hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS473524. At 1820hrs Recon Platoon at BS474526 observed movement in hamlet due west, will move to that location at first light at BS461527.
