Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1100hrs Command and Control Helicopter at BS718595 engaged 1 VC evading with result 1 VC KIA with negative ID or weapon. At 1145hrs 1-20 Infantry L SRRP at BS688522 spotted 4 dinks called in Artillery with results 1 VC KIA, BS687531, (Killed by artillery). At 1515hrs Command and Control Helicopter at BS762512 engaged 1 VC with result 1 VC KIA with negative ID or weapon. At 1615hrs 1-20 Infantry at BS775531, found trench line 150meters long east to west other trench line pointing to north thus shape of cross. At 1621hrs 1-20 Infantry sent 2 fighters into 767510 cleared grid. At 1624 1-20 Infantry BS775530 Air Strike destroyed 2 bunkers, 3 structures, 50 meters of trench line also 1 secondary explosion, received ground fire from Ville south of strike.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
January 3, 1969
At 0750hrs Alpha Company conduct a Combat Assault from Bud Pad to LZ BS718438 started at 0725hrs and completed at 0740hrs. At 1055hrs Alpha Company at BS736437 2 VCS CIA females, at BS735435 2 VCS CIA female had said that they fired at US troops and threw grades, also at BS736437 4 VCS CIA females.
Bravo Company
January 3, 1969
At 0700hrs Bravo Company at BS814442 received heavy small arms fire, return fire and engaged with result of 1 VC KIA with negative weapon or ID with negative casualties. At 0905hrs Bravo Company at BS814433 detained 3 VC suspects for questioning.
Charlie Company
January 3, 1969
Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz with the 81 and 41 elements at BS732463 with a Sweep and Clear operation.
Delta Company
January 3, 1969
At 1050hrs Delta Company (-) is in the vicinity LZ Dragon with 81 and 41 at BS722524 on a Recon in Force operation.
Echo Company
January 3, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon continued their Security Mission at LZ Liz.
