Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continue their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0728hrs Brigade Effective henceforth the term VCS will not he used, either Vietnamese Civilian or Vietnamese detainee. At 0835hrs 26th Engineers request Urgent Dust Off request two Vietnamese Civilians with Artillery frag wounds, one female with wounds in the stomach and one male with wounds in the back. The civilians carried them to our location and asked for help, completed at 0852hrs. At 1525hrs we request a flare ships for 4 December from 2100hrs to 2300hrs for a Cordon and Search operation Bravo 72 will be the ground contact at BS776413. At 1845hrs 1-20 Infantry the access road is open only at 1000hrs and 1500hrs on December 4.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 0946hrs 1-20 Infantry Rear A hook came on station at 0930hrs we had nothing at the pad for him and we couldn’t contact the element with the billets until the hook had already broken station at 0945hrs.
Alpha Company
December 3, 1969
Alpha Company is finishing up their Security Mission for Land Clearing Operation. At 0826 Alpha Company we are moving out of Night Defense Position to grid BS819440. At 0840hrs Alpha Company all elements are linked up and moving to check out a site to cross the river. Our present location is BS810110. At 1005hrs the 12 and 42 elements are at BS808437 the 72 and 32 elements will cross the river shortly. At 1220hrs Alpha Company our present location is BS781437 and we will eat here. At 1325hrs we are moving from Red Ball in route to LZ Liz. At 1902hrs the 15 snake is at BS766435, the 34 snake at BS766440 and the 74 snake at BS774439.
Bravo Company
December 3, 1969
Bravo Company at 0135hrs the 72 element with the Vietnamese picked up 3 Vietnamese detainees who were believed to be part of a VC carrying party. They had a pistol belt, 2 M-26 grenades and 2 M 1 clips. They are being interrogated at this time by the Vietnamese grid BS789417. At 0822hrs Bravo Company my Gorilla element is moving to grid BS802430 using Recon in Force. At 0827hrs Bravo Company My Gorilla element found a dud 155mm rounds at BS800435 and will blow it in place. At 1015hrs Bravo Company Gorilla element is at grid BS806437. At 1325hrs Bravo Company the 34 element on their patrol found some documents with names of enemy personnel in the area. We will send the documents to LZ Liz by Command and Control helicopter at BS778462. At 1525hrs Bravo Company we request flare ships for December 4, 1969 from 2100hrs to 2300hrs for a Cordon and Search also the Bravo 72 is the ground contact Grid BS776413. At 1700hrs Bravo 75 element is moving to BS792423. At 1840hrs Bravo 16 snake is moving to BS781435 and 37 to BS784445. At 2040hrs Bravo 76 is located at BS796410.
Charlie Company
December 3, 1969
At 0528hrs Charlie Company we spotted movement to our front and are firing 81mm and illumination along with small arms and artillery at grid BS809451. At 0820hrs Charlie Company 32 element checked out grid BS808451 where they spotted movement last night and fired artillery. We found 6 new bunkers and footprints leading into them but none coming out. We will throw in CS and see if we can get some results. At 0825hrs Charlie Company send the 12 element to link up with the 72 element at Alpha Company location. At 0900hrs Charlie Company we have finished checking out the bunker at BS808451 with negative results, we are moving to link up with the 72 and 12 elements at Alpha Company former location of BS833437. At 1020hrs Charlie Company reports their Command Post, 22, 32, 12 and 72 element is at BS833437 and the 74 element has closed at 1100hrs. At 1750hrs Charlie 76 snake is moving to BS830430 and closed on location at 1825hrs. At 1828hrs Charlie Company our Tiger element will not go on their operation tonight and have multiple snakes out tonight.
Delta Company

Delta Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Echo Company
December 3, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0553hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Supporting Missions 11, Observed Missions 10 with total expend 34 HE rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz and the (1-20 Infantry TOC).
