Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0825hrs Alpha Company 3-1 Infantry the meeting point, for all elements is BS740393. At 1100hrs Alpha Company 3-1 Infantry the location of the entire element is grid BS745386. At 1313hrs Alpha Company my snakes are as follows: 54 BS759392, the 91 element BS743376, the 96 element BS745380, the 01 element BS740393, the 06 element BS742392, the 07, 65, and 31 elements is at BS750390. At 1450hrs Alpha Company 3-1 Infantry our 01 and 06 elements have closed, the sweep is completed with no results. At 2115hrs Alpha Company we heard some VC/NVA music at grid BS753383. We are calling in Artillery.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 0730hrs the S-2 26 Engineer reports at BS726563 reports 3 craters in road (2 on east side and 1 of the west side). At BS778441 Wash out of road 60-75 feet long. Road is not passable 3’ of water over Road Surfaces.
Alpha Company
October 31, 1969
Alpha Company continued the Security Mission for the Clearing Operation. At 1630hrs Alpha Company 150 acres of land cleared in area BS810473, BS807477, BS798474 and BS806469, with no booby traps. Tomorrow’s area to be cleared is BS801473, BS798467, BS793482 and BS795478. Equipment status: 54 came in, out by dead lined, 3 APC were taken out. Also 1 DC-7 with home plow is dead line (water pump), 5 EIMCO Bull blades are dead line and EIMCO 2 Rome plow.
Bravo Company
October 31, 1969
Bravo Company working with Vietnamese conduct Sweep and Clear operation and Multiple Patrolling, with some Day and night ambush in their Area of Operation. At 2125hrs Bravo Company Urgent Dust Off, 1 US got VC hand frag wounds to head and wrist. The 05 element was coming back from their snake location after springing their ambush when and the 05 element received small arms fire from a Ville on the east side of Highway 1 and the Rangers are directing gun ships on the enemy location BS793412, Dust Off completed at 2150hs. Bravo Company reports PFC Dennis B. Svihl was evac.
Charlie Company

At 0704hrs Charlie Company we are moving to our Day Logger. At 0730hrs Charlie Company priority Dust Off requested: we have 1 US with a unknown type illness, we also have a Vietnamese with a bad stomach infection, man name Galgon completed at 0820hrs. At 1820hrs Charlie Company our Night Defense Position is located at BS723445 I believe Charlie Company the sick man was PFC Anthony Galgon.
Delta Company

Delta Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Echo Company
October 31, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0653hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Scheduled Mission 4 Observe Missions 23 HE and 6 WP total expended 59 HE and 6 WP rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon reports their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
