Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0015hrs LATE SPOT: Time of event 2135hrs PF 148 at BS767476 made contact with platoon size enemy force with results 4 VC KIA and 1 AK 47 CIA. At 0210hrs SSGT Kinpell inspected bunkers 1, 15, 16 and 17 satisfactory. At 0423hrs LATE SPOT Time of event 2330hrs at BS857303 Duc Pho RF 1639 10 60mm mortar rounds returned 10 Artillery 105mm. At 0426hrs Access Road bunker #2 received 6 to 8 rounds sniper fire from south about 300 meters and returned fire with small arms fire and fired Illumination. At 0440hrs Inspected bunkers 6, 7, 8 and 9 all satisfactory. At 1400hrs Dolphin 26 is on station. At 1550hrs Primo 6 is station and broke station at 0605hrs. At 1717hrs Dolphin 26 broke station. At 2002hrs Sting 67 activated Target B, 3 personnel moving south to north at 3 miles per hour metal confirmed with negative clearance code 2. At 2035hrs 1-20 Infantry Battalion Mechanical Ambushes out: Alpha 6, Bravo 0 and Delta 2 for a total of 8 out. At 2215hrs PF 172, 278, 175, 180 and PRU picked up 4 VC as a result of intelligence from cap, VC time 1970hrs. At 2335hrs LT Roberts Bunker 13 not set defensive materials Bunker 12, 11 and Quad .50 all satisfactory. Legend: 1st Platoon 34, 2nd Platoon 05, 3rd Platoon 89, 4th Platoon 78, CO-07.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0923hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon Patrol is moving out to BS702518. At 1035hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon Patrol closed to BS700516. At 1632hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon Patrol is at checkpoint 1 at BS725477. At 1953hrs Alpha Company in their Night Defense Position 2nd and 4th Platoons at BS722511, 1st Platoon BS706522, Command Post and 3rd Platoon at BS726485 and 2nd Platoon ambush at BS729500 and they have 6 Mechanical Ambush out.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in there Area of Operation. At 0630hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon patrol is moving out to Patrol base at BS730455 and 1st Platoon is Patrol Base at BS730455 with 2nd Platoon patrol moving out to BS725438. At 1054hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon patrol closed on BS725438. At 1641hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon is moving out to BS729411. At 1707hrs Bravo Company while in their Patrol Base at BS727437 saw 4 VC with weapons in black moving north. An element from 1st Platoon will move to block and 2nd Platoon will pursue with negative results. At 1944hrs Bravo Company in their Night Defense Position Command Post with 3rd Platoon is at BS729450, 2nd Platoon is at BS716434 and the 1st and 4th Platoons at BS727447.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0210hrs SSGT Kimpell inspected Access road bunkers. At 0423hrs the # 2 Bunker received 6-8 rounds sniper fire from south about 300 meters returned small arms fire and fired illumination. At 2335hrs LT Roberts Bunker 13 not set defensive materials Bunker 12, 11 and Quad .50 all satisfactory.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued using Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0718hrs Delta Company 1st and 4th Platoons at their Patrol Base at BS673547 and 2nd Platoon and Command Post are in their Patrol Base at BS675536. At 1025hrs Delta Company Command Post and 2nd Platoon Patrol at Patrol Base changes to BS674535. At 2000hrs Delta Company set up their Night Defense Position 1st and 4th Platoons at BS668557, Command Post 2nd Platoon at BS673547 with 2 Mechanical Ambush out.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
