Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0715hrs Helix (FAC) 32 is putting in an Air Strike at BS768296. And at 0937hrs Helix (FAC) 32 is putting in an air strike at BS690437. At 0907hrs Brigade: be prepared to provide a reaction force for the 8th Transportation Corps convoy from the Quin Nhon to Chu Lai on 1 April 1970 will return 2 April and exact times are unknown. At 1110hrs Shark 2 we are checking out BS715426 (TMF Target). We found some dandles and chogie sticks and 1 well use trail. At 1122hrs Shark 2 we are checking out BS706434 got 5 VC KIA 2 males and 2 females and (other unknown), and they spotted 2 caves suspected of being storage areas and spotted an additional 15 VC/NVA. At 1320hrs 1-20 Infantry Dolphin took small arms fire from BS772395 with the 36 element of Alpha Company checking it out with negative finding, artillery is being called into the area. At 1445hrs Helix 37 destroyed trails in the area of BS695446. At 1430hrs TMF Artillery Mission reports at 1030hrs on BS708429 with 20 HE of Artillery 155/105 expended. The Battalion Commander had 2 sharks in the area and a LOH at 1040hrs Sharks got 4 KIA (previous message). In the Combat Assault we had 3 lifts and one slick. 15 VC were spotted in the open and artillery was called in on the ridge where they were spotted. An Air Strike of 750 pound bombs engaged the area and the Delta 12 element is checking the area thoroughly, one additional KIA male was found with a pistol belt. Water, cans, rice baskets, chogie sticks and chicken were heard in the area. A boy was spotted evading into the mountains. At 1435hrs Brigade the convoy from Quin Nhon to Chu Lai will arrive at the, I and II Corp boundary at 1100hrs on 1 April 1970. They well be at Quang Nhai on 1700hrs on 1 April 1970. They will be at Quang Nhai and leave Chu Lai at 0800hrs 2 April 1970 and arrived in Quang Nhai at 1000hr and go to Quang Nhai. Be prepared to provide a reaction force.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
March 31, 1970
At 0748hrs Alpha Company 62 found hootches in a NVA base camp used by 8-10 personnel, it was recently used with campfires 2 days old. The camp had been destroyed one time before. We also found shirt and trousers at grid BS773353. At 0847hrs Alpha Company 12 found an AK 47 which was damaged and will bring the weapon in (BS751455) the 33 element found 1 bag of AK 47 ammo and one bag of carbine ammo at BS771455. Also found 2 ammo pouches and booby-trapped hand frag grenades. At 0955hrs Alpha Company at BS769361 the 32 element picked up 2 ammo pouches with 30 caliber ammo and 1 30 caliber Magazine loaded. The Vietnamese type batteries and medical supplies were found at BS768357. The 32 element found one booby trapped hand frag with trip wire and was blown in place. At 1320hrs 1-20 Infantry Dolphin took small arms fire from BS772395 with the 36 element of Alpha Company checking it out with negative finding, artillery is being called into the area. At 1858hrs Alpha Company all snakes in location and with our Night Defense Position is at BS774359.
Bravo Company
March 31, 1970
At 0635hrs Bravo Company 17 element spotted 2 VC/NVA with weapons at BS789443 and the two personnel evaded into a tree line engaged with 81mm and small arms fire with negative finding. At 0655hrs Bravo Company the 64 element requested an Urgent Dust Off for female wound above the right eve, says she received wound by a stray round from the 183 PF Platoon at the Twin Ville completed at 0704hrs. At 0834hrs the 16 element picked up 3 Vietnamese boys at BS807435, they range in age from 10, 11, and 13 and dressed in black and violet, black and white and all black. They were throwing hand frag into the water to fish with, and where carrying 2 hand frag. At 1900hrs Bravo Company we request an Urgent Dust Off for one Vietnamese male, 8 years old who was gored by a water buffalo grid BS787424 completed at 1907hrs. Bravo Company 64 element received (3-4 rounds of M-16) small arms fire as they approached their Night Defense Position and returned fire. They captured one AK47 and 1 M-16 (serial #864526) at BS770451. They were 20 meters away when they engaged. At 2230hrs Bravo Company 14 element spotted 22 personnel wearing green uniforms, with helmets and weapons. They were moving north at grid BS792430 (approximately 50 meters away) the personnel were at a poor angle to engage, they evaded to the east line into a grave yard. We engaged with small arms fire, Artillery and 81mm, 4.2mm mortar and received incoming small arms fire from the grave yard area. When Artillery went in they evaded to the west and south. Gun ships called but did not expend ammo, Flare ship was on station while the 14 element checked out area with negative finding.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz with the 36 element spotted 3 personnel evading to the southwest at approximately 600 to 800 meters no contact was made.
Delta Company
March 31, 1970
Delta Company we are in Day Logger at BS737425. At 1348hrs Delta Company 12 conducts a Combat Assault to BS707437 the 1st LZ was at 1252hrs and last LZ at 1304hrs. At 1750hrs Delta Company have multiple patrolling going out at this time. At 1803hrs Delta Company 32 in the Combat Assault, from BS707437 to BS737425 the 1st PZ was at 1730hrs and 1st LZ 1735hrs, 2nd PZ was at 1740hrs and 3rd LZ at 1755hrs. Delta Company Night Defense Position is located at BS724427 with multiple ambushes will be out in location by 2012hrs. At 2006 Delta Company reports all snake are in their location: 62 at BS734427, 15 at BS735419, 63 at BS733433, 64 is at BS732437, 32 is at BS735449, 34 is at BS740451 and 66 is at BS731445.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 4.2 Platoon reports Scheduled Fires 10 for a total expended of 8 HE and 13 Illumination. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
