Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1430hrs FAC 33 putting Air Strike into grid BS7344468 and area is cleared.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.
Alpha Company

At 0615hrs Alpha Company closed on LZ Liz at this time began to take over Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Bravo Company
July 31, 1969
At 0636hrs Bravo Company at BS821441my element has an 18 years old female VCS that thy found in hooch while on their sweep, no ID. At 0650hrs working out of the same area we found in hooch pick up 2 more VCS with no ID, 25 to 35 one was carrying a bag containing 17,340 piasters, want them picked up with the other one we got earlier. At 0750hrs Bravo Company is at BS817441 with 63 at grid BS808452. At 1025hrs Bravo Company closed on Day Logger last nights Night Defense Position at BS810444. At 1300hrs 13 Combat Patrol at BS810160, BS809454, and BS809447 which will be Night Defense Position. Bravo Company 13 is moving to our Night Defense Position. At 1720hrs Bravo Company Ajax is 76 for today. At 1820hrs Bravo Company is at grid BS810450 and spotted 5-6 NVA/VC, one at least had a weapon. They were wearing blue and green uniforms, had sight of them for a few seconds before they disappeared into the tree line. At 2030hrs Bravo Company requests priority Dust Off for 1 US cramps in stomach, vomiting (Young) pick up site BS823459, Dust Off completed at 1928hrs. At 2030hrs Bravo Company Urgent Dust Off 2 US high temp 102, stomach cramps and cold chills (Rosa and Frutell) pick up site BS823459 Dust Off competed at 2005hrs. At 2252hrs Bravo Company location at BS823459, requests Urgent Dust Off for 2 US 1st man is having convulsions of unknown origin, vomiting and difficulty with breathing 2nd tripped and cut his head deeply on entrenching toil and bleeding profusely completed at 2316hrs (SGT Comkins and PFC Robinson). Incident on Beach (See August 1, 1969 for Information.)
Charlie Company
July 31, 1969
At 1350hrs Charlie Company location BS738457 found approximately 3,000 pounds of rice in a couple of hootches, the rice was found in walls of the hootches. At 1715hrs Charlie Company location at BS738457, request routine Dust Off for 1 US with dislocated shoulder, (Clyde Johnson) completed at 1730hrs. At 1738 Charlie Company extraction of rice is completed approximately 7,000 pounds. At 1954hrs Charlie Company moves into their Night Defense Position at BS738448.
Delta Company

Delta Company will go for their Stand Down, the 1st PZ 0800hrs, the 2nd PZ 0807hrs, the 3rd PZ 0920hrs and the 4th PZ BS0930.
Echo Company
July 31, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0635hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Schedule Mission 1 total expend: 10 HE 1 WP. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon is LZ Liz and will continue their Security Mission for the 1-20 Infantry.
