Headquarters and Headquarter Company
December 31, 1969
Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continue their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0920hrs Battalion Commanding Officer departed for LZ Dragon and Alpha Company and returned at 1200hrs. At 1245hrs Battalion Commander on was to Bravo Company and at 1700hrs LTC Fischer is back at LZ Liz. At 1720hrs 1-20 Bunker report all bunkers have bobs and are OK.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.
Alpha Company
December 31, 1969
At 0925hrs Alpha Company is moving to out new Day Logger. At 1130hrs Alpha Company the 12 and 82 elements have moved out for a short Recon mission and closed back on BS799480 at 1400hrs. At 1830hrs Alpha Company have established and closed on their Night Defense Position at BS810487.
Bravo Company
December 31, 1969
At 0610hrs Bravo Company the 15 element closed on BS776446 and the 85 element has closed on BS787424 and the 13 element has moved out to secure a rice find. At 0650hrs Bravo Company 26 snake has closed on the Bravo Company Command Post. At 0710hrs Bravo Company the 14 element is now in location from BS758459 to BS746463. The 13 element is location from BS778459 to BS760446. At 0805hrs Bravo Company, the 14 element has found a tunnel at BS749465 and are now exploring it. Also the 25 element and Gorilla element is moving to BS778427. At 0825hrs Bravo Company the 14 element has found a tunnel at grid BS749465. It has a 3 X 3 opening and was 5 long by 4 wide. We found 1 Chieu Hoi paper inside and we destroyed the bunker. At 0830hrs Bravo Company all our snakes have closed on their semi-permanent positions. The Gorilla and 25 elements are at checkpoint 1. They found a few family bunkers and will blow them both with 15pound shaped chargers. At 0905hrs Bravo Company the Gorilla element found another family type bunker 7 ½ X 6 ½ X 4 which was made of rocks and lumber at grid BS749465. The bunker at 0920hrs and found 3 155 rounds, 1 81mm round and 1 M-16 magazine. The rounds were blown in place. At 0930hrs The Gorilla and the 25 element are at checkpoint 2 at BS775429. At 1010hrs Bravo Company the Gorilla and the 25 element has completed their patrol and are returning to the Command Post. At 1156hrs Bravo Company the Gorilla and the 25 element closed at BS790487. At 1524hrs Bravo Company the 13 element has closed on the Twin Ville. At 1845hrs Bravo Company the 14 element met some ARVN on their way to the North Bridge. The ARVN had one male, 35 years old, wearing blue shorts with a black shirt. He had a Thompson sub machine gun. The ARVN Thompson was turned over to MACV Duc Pho. The VC leaded the ARVN elements and the 14 element to a tunnel at grid BS765455 and blew the tunnel. The ARVN will keep the VC at the North Bridge tonight. The VC says he will lead then to move VC, and the ARVN have him. At 1825hrs Bravo Company the 23 element is moving to BS781435 and the 15 element is at BS785445. At 2330hrs Bravo Company we are receiving sounds from a loud speaker at grid BS775430. They were talking in Vietnamese. They were teasing Bravo Company about the cease fire saying "HA! Ha! You cant do anything about it.
Charlie Company
December 31, 1969
At 0630hrs Charlie Company the 84 element has closed on their Night Defense Position at BS724437. At 0700hrs Charlie Company we are moving to the 14 element location at BS728446. At 0805hrs Charlie Company Command Post is at BS735450 and the 82 element is moving to blocking position south of the 45 grid line and the 12 element is moving north of the 45 grid line. They set up their blocking locations. At 0855hrs Charlie Company the 13 element is at BS733460, the 14 element is at BS739460, the 15 element is at BS730450 and the 16 element is at BS736458. The following elements have radios and have people 50 to 100 meters on both sides of our location 23 is at BS728443, 84 at BS734442, 82 (command Post) and 85 at BS742441 and the 86 is at BS748443. At 1640hrs Charlie Company our locations are 13, 14, 15, and 16 are at BS735450. At 1830hrs Charlie Company all element have on BS735450. At 1920hrs Charlie Company 15 element at BS733448 and the 85 element is at BS735448.
Delta Company

The Delta Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz at 0825hrs all elements closed to LZ Liz. At 1830hrs Delta Company reports the 84 element is at BS769440, the 24 element is at BS773440 and the 14 element is at BS765437.
Echo Company
December 31, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0643hrs 4.2 Platoon we fired 3 rounds of C/S on BS725430 and we had one dud round. At 0657hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Supporting Missions 8, Observed Missions 1 with total expend 32 HE with 6 C/S rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 1520hrs Recon we are moving north. And at 1550hrs Recon our present location is BS762498 and planning on a Night Defense Position at BS768412. At 1715hrs Recon Platoon our new Night Defense Position is at BS766402 and at 1905hrs Recon reports we have closed.
