Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1210hrs 1-20 Infantry Command and Control Helicopter report 1 VC evading at BS626547 and with results 1 VC KIA evading at BS620547.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.

Bravo Company
December 31, 1968
Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Dragon. The 31 element is at BS759535 and the 61 element is moving on their Search and Clear operation. At 1115hrs Bravo Company at BS770523 found 200 pounds of unpolished rice buried in a can, and destroyed in place. At 1140hrs Bravo Company at BS693540 engaged 1 VC evading with results 1 VC KIA. At 1200hrs Bravo Company 61 element is at BS770523 and at 1255hrs Bravo Company at BS775515 found 1 155 round and blew in place then received 2-3 AK 47 rounds. At 1650hrs they are closing on LZ Dragon. At 1823hrs Bravo Company reports SSRP locations Lethoargie BS702509 and Tranquiel at BS732377. At 1800hrs Bravo Company at BS704450 Hit Booby trapped area (Mortar round, frag grenade and unknown booby trap Dust Off completed at 1830hrs 7 WHA. Bravo Company reports Hasty, Terry D. E-4 hit in chest both legs with frag 60 or 81 mortar, Sylvester, William R. E-3 frag arm frag grenade hit right arm hit Booby Trap mine at BS704544. At 1700hrs Mitchell Dannenberg E-4 hit right leg and right shoulder, with frag 60 or 81 Mortar and at 1830hrs Thompson, Harold E-4 frag in right leg booby trap grenade. Harris, Leroy E-4 frag left legs from mortar round 60 or 81mm the last one is Wilson, Mike E-7 hit by grenade forehead, back and arm. At 2110hrs LZ Dragon bunker line received 2 rounds HE of unknown size between bunkers 1 and 15 from the east negative casualties.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0045hrs Charlie Company at BS726454 received 6 to 10 rounds of 82mm negative casualties or damage. At 0805hrs Charlie Company reports the following at BS756400 1 VC KIA evading, (0715hrs) at BS740589 1 VC KIA, (0721hrs) at BS738588 1 KIA, (0721hrs) at BS738588 1 VC KIA, (0725hrs) at BS735587 KIA, (0726hrs). Delta Company took some 1 VC KIA and 6 VC CIA working in support of Charlie Company today. At 0855hrs Charlie Company reports their locations at LZ Liz with 31 at BS726454 with 81 and 61 moving at BS773462 with the rest to LZ Liz. 1-20 Infantry TOC reports Lethaargic at BS754510, Trango at BS732378. At 1400hrs Charlie Company on LZ Liz with 61 and 81 at BSBS773462. At 1823hrs Charlie Company snake is at BS747436.
Delta Company

At 0700hrs Delta Company conducts Combat Assault PZ 0701hrs at BS810486 to LZ BS742585 completed at 0810hrs. At 0750hrs to 0810hrs Gun Ships 174 Aviation vicinity BS738588 engaged 6 VC evading with results 5 VC KIA and 1 VC WIA CIA. Delta Company engaged 16 VC evading vicinity BS734596 with results 4 VC KIA, 00 VCS CIA with 1 VC WIA and CIA (all detainee evac to LZ Bronco). At 0810hrs Delta Company reports at BS738588 1 VCS CIA at BS733599, 1 VCS CIA at BS733597and at 0740hrs 1 VC KIA at BS733597 with 3 VCS CIA. At 0855hrs Delta 31 is 100 meters out of Area of Operation and is moving back. At 1055hrs Delta Company at BS740592 found 2 tons of unpolished Rice and Destroyed. At 1823hrs 1-20 Infantry reports LRRP locations with Lethargic at BS702509 and Tranquil at BS732377. At 1930hrs Delta Company 61 at BS704591 spotted 1 dink one KIA and at BS735577 received sniper fire with results 1 VC KIA.
Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Liz where Battalion Forward is located and coordinates the Battalion Rear elements and Base Defense element on LZ Liz. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Liz where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 0735hrs Recon Platoon reports Charlie Company received incoming 82mm last night, Recon heard the tubes at BS692411 going off will check mortar location. At 1200hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS689411. At 1400hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS688418. At 1920hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS694407.
