Headquarters and Headquarter Company
September 30, 1971
Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Siberia and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1300hrs AMC bird is on station and at 1325hrs PZ for Recon LZ Siberia to LZ at 1340hrs at AT871213. At 1350hrs AMC bird has broken station. At 1400hrs Hornet Resupply bird has broken station. At 1405hrs Dupont 56 (Americal Division Commander) stop by for visit LZ Siberia and departed LZ Siberia at 1420hrs.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for Chu Lai.
Alpha Company
September 30, 1971
Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ West. At 1915hrs Request for Dust Off for M2884, individual was setting up a trip flare inside of perimeter and flare accidentally went off near his face resulting in right eve being burned. Dust Off Requested at 1926hrs and was completed at 1950hrs. The Dust Off 53 reports took WIA was taken to the 65 Evac in Da Nang.
Bravo Company
September 30, 1971
At 0820hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon has closed on their Patrol base at AT902262. Bravo Company continued their Saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation and at 1225hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon at AT902267 while on patrol found 2 graves, dug up found only bones and continued their operations. At 1850hrs Bravo Company is moving to their Night Defense Position at AT905260 and AT905264. At 1920hrs Bravo Company has moved to their Night Defense Position at AT907261.
Charlie Company
September 30, 1971
Alpha Company at 0925hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon patrol at AT872252 and closed on location at 1035hrs and then moved to AT867244 and 2nd Platoon moving to AT862253. At 1745hrs Charlie Company is moving into their Night Defense Position location at AT864212. At 1920hrs Charlie Company has closed on their Night Defense Position location at AT872239.
Delta Company
September 30, 1971
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Siberia. At 0735hrs Hornet 36 resupply bird is on station. At 1755hrs LOH time requested and approved (RJW) 1300hrs to 1500hrs.
Echo Company
September 30, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Siberia, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 1325hrs PZ for Recon LZ Siberia and at 1340hrs LZ for Recon is at AT871213. At 1430hrs Recon reports they are at their Patrol base at AT866214. At 1530hrs Slow Motion #2 is on station LOH and broke station at 1700hrs. At 1920hrs Recon reports they have closed on their Night Defense Position at AT864212.
