Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. LZ Bronco Target Detection D-3 at 2335hrs at BS80053338 picked up a stationary target of 6 personnel and engaged with 4 rounds HE of 105 Artillery. At 2045hrs LZ Bronco Target Detection at 2045hrs D-2 picked up 6-10 personnel at BS79153151 moving south to north engaged with 16 rounds of HE 105 Artillery.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0640hrs Alpha Company 81mm mortar expended 34 HE and 2 WP rounds.
Bravo Company
September 30, 1969
At 0015hrs Bravo Company at gird BS784428 the 85 element has one AK47, 1 bandoleer AK47 ammo. The VC/NVA believed to be wearing some type of uniform, we don’t know for sure because it was dark. We have 1 VC/NVA 25 feet from their position and will keep him under observation until tomorrow morning. At 0840hrs Bravo Company at BS718436 detained 7 VCS boys, 14 and 15 all had birth certificates and no ID, believe were hauling rice for VC and believe they know location of VC/NVA tagged and evac to Bronco. At 1940hrs Bravo Company 75 element at BS785436 while moving to ambush location received 3to 4 Automatic weapons fire and 2 to 3 rounds of M-79 fire resulting in 1 US WIA (E), Dust Off completed at 2020hrs and Gun ships work the area over. At 2200hrs Bravo Company reports their locations Night Defense Position at BS775445, 74 BS780430, 53 BS777452, 75 and 72 at BS783430, 54 BS797400, and 55 at BS794400. PFC Richard A. Herholz was evac to the 91st Evac Hospital.
Charlie Company
September 30, 1969
At 0825hrs Charlie Company is located at BS843420 request routine Dust Off for a 16 year old, 1 VCS with Frag wounds and Dust Off was completed at 0600hrs. At 0917hrs at BS841423 detained 1 male VCS 60 years old was evading, no ID and will be evac to Bronco. At 2130hrs Charlie Company is moving into their Night Defense Position at BS820439.
Delta Company
September 30, 1969
Delta Company is OPCON to the 4-21 Infantry. At 1015hrs Delta Company at 1010hrs at BS884261 had Dust Off completed for man who turned his ankle. At 1400hrs Delta Company in vicinity BS816349 and moving into their Night Defense Position in the vicinity BS872255.
Echo Company
September 30, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. 4.2 Platoon reports Defense Targets 1, Schedule Mission 1, Observe Mission 6 total expend 45 HE, 5 WP, 2 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and 1-20 Infantry. Echo company reports SGT Charles Bachmann was attached to 91st Evac Hospital (11B40).
