Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations. At 0820hrs Delta Company request 2 Dog Teams for replacement of the 2 Dog teams they now have, Dog to be picked up at southeast pad at 0645hrs by Command and Control Helicopter. At 0708hrs APC request Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese male with shrapnel wound to right hip carried to location by her Vietnamese at (Hard stand), Dust Off completed at 0855hrs at BS727225. At 1103hrs Message to 1-20 Infantry the rest of the platoon from E Troop will move down from LZ Dottie to LZ Dragon today, ETA unknown the Platoon will be still attached to the 1-20 Infantry. At 1100hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer reports at BS917174 element form LZ English in ¾ truck received 1 M-79 round and approximately 100 rounds of automatic weapons fire from the west side of the road. Vehicle left road and sustained many hits with 1 US WHA in eye and evac to LZ Lowboy and secured Vehicle taken to LZ Lowboy.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company remains at LZ Liz as they prepare for Operation Vernon Lake II to begin November 1, 1968.
Bravo Company
October 30, 1968
Bravo Company at Dragon at 0201hrs 86 is at BS731528 had 1 VC CIA in a bunker when looked for him he escaped fired 81mm ill, south of perimeter to see if could spot negative results. At 0209hrs Bravo Company element heard movement to front engaged with 50 cal, small arms fire and fired claymores results 1 VC KIA identified as VC that had escaped earlier at 0201hrs will pick up at 1st Light. At 0932hrs Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Dragon.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder. Charlie Company LRRP is located at BS818297.
Delta Company
October 30, 1968
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown. At 0755hrs Delta Company reports all elements have moved back to LZ Charlie Brown. At 0845hrs Delta 68 is located at BS920260.
Echo Company
October 30, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder and 2 squads on LZ Charlie Brown where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Dottie with 1 Platoon from Bravo Company. PFC James McDonald JR was evac to 312th Evac Hospital at 1500hrs sick.
