Forward Area: (1-20 Infantry Headquarters) is located at LZ Liz and will continue to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0105hrs Brigade wants to know that total number of meals per man at this time, Alpha Company 4 meals per man, Bravo Company on LZ Liz., Charlie Company 4 meals per, Delta Company 4 meal per, Recon Platoon on LZ Liz, Q Company 4 meals per man. At 0120hrs Brigade Air Calvary Box 64B and 69X approved by LT Pack. At 0430hrs MACV, Operation Tu Cuong 010800hrs November for 2 days, Friendly Commando platoon, PF 147, 168, NPFF, 7/406, S-2 and PRU, M63. The Area of Operation, start at BS7360 to BS7762 to BS7557 to BS7858. Axis of friendly advance, BS761602 to BS755595 to BS764563 to BS754561 to BS 742568 to BS734597 east will be Air Mobile Operation. Enemy Force will be 10 district Guerillas. At 0505hrs Brigade based on severe weather warning: by 0500hrs Brigade wants a resupply assessment list for this morning. Also consider movement to higher ground today. At 0700hr 1-20 Infantry S-4 Dolphin 410: is on station for resupply, at 0800hrs Dolphin 710 broke station. At 0910hrs Brigade G-3 says 1-20 Infantry will have a mine dog on a continuous basis starting 5 December 1970 CPT McCloud. At 0925hrs 1-20 Infantry Combat Assault is completed and Battalion Commander returning to LZ Liz. At 1040hrs From Commander 11 Brigade to Commander 1-20 Infantry Subject, Increased Enemy Activity, Part1 Base on numerous agent reports and recent increased enemy activity in Brigade Area of Operation and area of internal confines. The enemy intent of a high point during period 20 November to 22 December, increased vigilance should be emphasized for 30 November to 3 December a low period of Illumination; possible targets are pacification areas, and security forces and lines of communication, also possible Municipal Hospitals and key installations with sapper or rocket attacks. Point 2 Commanders will take necessary action to react to the threat. At 1220hrs 1-20 Infantry routine Dust Off for 2 Vietnamese children, frag wounds to stomach and lower extremities, vicinity BS783432. Ambulance made the pick up LZ Liz Access road and evac them to 23rd Medical LZ Bronco. At 2311hrs 1-20 Infantry Urgent Dust Off for 1 US with spasmodic breathing and convulsions. Locations at LZ Liz pad. Man was injured when he fell off a bunker. He is from Charlie Battery 6-11 Artillery PFC Cordova completed at 2326hrs. At 2353hrs Q Company spotted a flashlight in vicinity BS700599, engaged with 81mm, negative movement after engaging with 8 HE 81mm rounds. Legend: 1st Platoon 12-18, 2nd Platoon 62-68, 3rd Platoon 82-88, 4th Platoon 32-38 and CO 44.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 0620hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon vicinity BS743578 on ambush saw individual 200 meters to the east of their location. They engaged the personnel with small arms fire he returned fire, approximately 5-6 rounds semi-automatic fire. The 1st Platoon then returned M-60 fire they then checked out with negative finding. At 0655hrs Alpha Company used Patrol Bases and Saturation Patrolling in their Area of Operation.

Charlie Company
November 30, 1970
At 0610hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon moving to blocking location BS755626. At 0700hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon moving out or BS733622, 2nd Platoon moving to BS740610, 1st and 4th Platoon and Command Post is moving to BS775626. At 0915hrs Charlie Company vicinity BS737622, and 143 RF took 20 rounds of small arms fire, returned fire, 3rd Platoon and RF searched the area finding only 1 small tunnel. While sweeping area they found 3 booby traps, 2 hand frag type with trip wire, and 1 Petna with trip wire, located in a hole between 2 rice paddy dikes, destroyed in place. At 0950hrs Charlie Company 2nd and 3rd Platoon reference 0915hrs Charlie 3rd on their sweep of the tunnel area 3rd platoon uncovered 3 booby traps. The first 1 was a M-67 hand frag, with trip wire, concealed in a hedgerow approximately 2 days old. Second Booby trap was also M-67 hand frag with trip wire in hedgerow it was approximately 50 meters to the west of the first on and about 1 week old. Third booby trap was a can of Petna wrapped in steel wire with a nylon trip wire released attached to a smoke grenade-firing device. It also was concealed in a hedgerow, 2 days old and all three booby tap were destroyed in place. At 1020hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS730628 uncovered 1 booby trap consisting of a can of Petna with trip wire release. It was located in a hole between 2 rice paddy dikes, with the trip wire attached to a log. It was about 2 days old and blown in place. At 1300hrs Charlie Company Reference 251330hrs November 1970 vicinity BS729627 Shark 2 spotted and engaged 1 VC in front of a French styled house. Result was I VC KIA, spotted by AMC and Shark 2. This has already been reported to Brigade. At 1300hrs the 2nd Platoon found 1 VC KIA from frag wounds in a old French style house, body reported as 3-5 days old and was covered with frag wounds over his entire body. This confirms the kill Shark 2 reported on 121330hrs November 1970 at the same location. At 1300hrs Charlie Company after speaking with the Charlie Company commander on 01 December 1970 the body was fist credited to Shark 2 in a action on November 25, but after correction on the original spot report, when the body was only 1-2 hours and not 3-5 days old. The body was still warm and not more then 1 to 2 hours old. It is believed hand grenades, which were thrown by the 2nd Platoon prior to entering the area, killed the VC. Charlie Company graciously accepted full credit for the 1 VC KIA by hand grenade results 1 VC KIA. At 1655hrs Charlie Company vicinity BS738618, Battalion resupply chopper approached and landed Charlie Company Command Post location a drew 1 round sniper fire, 2-300 meters to the west. An element was sent out to search the area. At 1700hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon vicinity BS729627 located what appeared to be a booby trap factory in old French Style house. Inside the house the following items were found 1 M-1 carbine, 6 Petna can Booby trap with fuses, 1 Chi Com grenade, 4 smoke grenades fuse, 1 pressure release firing device, 1 small can Petna without firing device and 3 60mm mortar rounds also 1 hacksaw, 1 M-79 CS round, 1 M-79 canister round, 2 (250 pounds) blocks of Petna and (1 with anti personnel firing device). Later they add to the collection with 3 length of bicycle chain for shrapnel, 100 rounds of M-1 ammo, 1 M-16 ammo can containing documents, newspapers, and note book, all ammo destroyed will be evac the remainder of items to LZ Liz. At 1900hrs Charlie Company Command Post at BS738618. 2nd Platoon in location at BS747611 and 3rd Platoon ambush at BS739608.
Delta Company

Delta Company will continue to work their Area of Operation. At 1925hrs Delta Company Command Post BS681582, 1st Platoon BS691599 and 3rd Platoon located at BS703581.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon will continue their Security Mission for the 1-20 Infantry.
