Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0045hrs LT Sattler inspected bunkers 6, 7, 8, and 9. At 0345hrs LT Hodges inspected bunkers 1, 15, 16, 17 satisfactory. At 0424hrs LZ Liz Bunkers 14, 15, 16 and 17 inspected and found all satisfactory. At 0625hrs Request 05 element Resupply for Class V, can be effect the resupply if desired at 0800hrs. At 1355hrs Dolphin 23 is on station. At 1402hrs at BS731625, 1 RF KIA, tripped 155 booby-trap round, E Troop and 172 RF destroyed 3 bunkers found with 1 AK44 and 5 rounds. At 1500hrs Primo 2 is on station and broke station at 1605hrs. At 2023hrs String GS 4A target unknown number of stationary personnel with negative metal confirmation and engaged at 2033hrs. At 2033hrs 1-20 Infantry Mechanical Ambushes out: Alpha 8, Bravo 6 and Delta 6 for a total of 20. At 2120hrs Bunkers 13 found unsatisfactory, 14 satisfactory, 15 and 16 where very satisfactory. At 2152hrs Sabre Black is on station for Box 65, negative findings, at 2235hrs worked box 64 with negative findings and broke station at 2308hrs. At 2240hrs Sting 6S6 Target C has 4 to 5 personnel moving north and engaged at 2247hrs with 10 HE 4.2 Mortar. At 2399hrs LT Hodges inspected bunkers 1, 2, 15, 16, 17 all satisfactory. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. SP5 Earl M. Hess was evac to the 91st Evac Hospital medic.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 1050hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon Patrol is moving out to BS699508. At 1332hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon bought a 105mm and firing device from coke kid 9-11 for C ration meals at BS697510 and rounds where blown in place and later bought 1 60mm mortar round and 2 M79 HE, 2 meals of C Rations and again blew in Place. At 1603hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon is moving out to BS719477. At 2008hrs Alpha Company in their Night Defense Positions Command Post, 2nd and 4th Platoon at BS725503, 3rd Platoon at BS728480, 2nd Platoon ambush at BS729490 and 2nd Platoon ambush at BS729490 and 1st Platoon at BS700506 with 6 mechanical Ambush out.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0735hrs Bravo Company Command Post and 3rd Platoon is at BS726421, 1st and 4th Platoons at BS723451 and 2nd Platoon is at BS717436. At 0745hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon patrol is moving out to BS721453. At 0808hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon checked out area of contact at BS713426. At 1150hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon patrol closed at BS723451. At 1556hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon Patrol is moving out to BS722418. At 1952hrs Bravo Company Night Defense Positions Command Post with 2nd Platoon at BS722422, 1st and 2nd Platoons at BS724445 and 2nd Platoon at BS713434 with 6 Mechanical Ambushes out.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0045hrs LT Sattler inspected bunkers 6, 7, 8, and 9. At 0345hrs LT Hodges inspected bunkers 1, 15, 16 and 17 satisfactory. At 0424hrs LZ Liz Bunkers 14, 15, 16 and 17 were inspected and all satisfactory. At 2120hrs Bunkers Line again inspected 13 unsatisfactory, 14 satisfactory, 15 and 16 where very satisfactory. At 2399hrs LT Hodges inspected bunkers 1, 2, 15, 16 and 17 all satisfactory.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued using Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0750hrs Delta Company 1st and 4th Platoon is in platoons in their Patrol Base at BS674545. At 1040hrs Delta Company Command Post and 2nd Platoon requested Urgent Dust Off for scout dog who hit a booby trap, can of Petna, with trip wire, Bird #59 Dust Off completed at 1058hrs. At 1447hrs Delta Company at BS662538 Command Post heard small arms fire and engaged with Artillery. At 1700hrs Delta Company is their Night Defense Position at BS674537 with 6 Mechanical Ambush set out.
Echo Company
May 30, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry.
