Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0812hrs 1-20 Infantry LTC Fischer informed CPT Lisowski to caution the Commanding Officer 147 RF Company about the RF killing and shooting member of the Vietnam civilian population. At 1015hrs Brigade reports Warlord Infantry, was ambushed by an unknown size force at BS763358. The Kit Carson Scout was WIA, 2 AK 47 destroyed. Alpha Company was notified and maneuvering the 62 and 32 elements into the area of contact and the Alpha Company the 19 element is standing by for a Combat Assault. At 1100hrs Helix 01 put in a air strike into the area of contact. Alpha Company 19 is Combat Assault had a 1st PZ at 1155hrs to BS764347 and 1st LZ at 1207hrs (cold) at BS765358.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
March 30, 1970
At 1015hrs Brigade War Lord Infantry, was ambushed by an unknown size force at BS763358. The Kit Carson Scout was WIA, Two AK 47 were destroyed. Alpha Company was notified and is maneuvering the 62 and 32 into the area of contact and Alpha Company 19 is standing by for a Combat Assault. At 1100hrs Helix 01 put an Air strike into the area of contact, with Alpha Company 19 Combat Assault 1st PZ of 1155 to BS764347 and last LZ at 1207hrs at BS765351. At 1135hrs Alpha Company the 35 element has a OP at BS757351. At 1300hrs we found 1 AK 47 and 2 packs with medical supplies, clothing and documents at BS765358. At 1508hrs Alpha Company and the 13 element present location is at BS780353 and is checking the area where the (War Lord) infantry had Contact. In the area where Napalm and Air Strike went in we found a booby trap 250pound bomb and a napalm bomb, grid BS755360. At 1645hrs Alpha Company 62 had contact with 2 VC/NVA dressed in blue T-shirt and an OD shirt over it, fatigue pants and a green bush hat at BS768359 and they where carrying M-16. They evaded to the southeast BS775355. At 1930hrs Alpha Company was informed that a Beacon Drop will be going into BS742316 at DATE/TIME 31044 Mar 70. At 1920hrs we are moving into our Night Defense Position at BS765350. At 1925hrs Alpha Company at BS768358 a hootch was found and near a trail we found 20 fresh bandages several with blood stains, a bouncing betty type mine, and some penicillin. We also heard a man evading on a streambed.
Bravo Company

At 0728hrs Bravo Company we requests Urgent Dust Off for one Vietnamese male with gun shot wound to the abdomen resulting from PF fire. He forced himself through the roadblock on highway 1 and RF shot him at grid BS789417 completed at 0740hrs. At 0812hrs 1-20th Infantry LTC Fischer informed CPT Lisowski to caution the Commanding Office of the 147 RF Company about the RF killing and shooting members of the Vietnamese civilian population. Bravo Company the 36 element at 1115hrs engaged 16 NVA/VC dressed in green uniforms and carrying packs and 3 to 4 weapons at BS777388. They were 500 meters away when they engaged. Gun ships were requested. Bravo 32 and 12 element will Combat Assault into BS765390 (32 element) and BS778395 (12 element) completed at 1225hrs. Bravo Company the 36 element found 1 KIA 25 to 30 dressed in blue killed by small arms fire he had a picture, M26 grenade and US ammo pouch, 12 to 15 bushels of potatoes and a small amount of rice. At 1750hrs Bravo Company picked up 2 female detainee at BS778458 17 and 18 to MACV.
Charlie Company

Delta Company
March 30, 1970
Delta Company the 32 element is now at LZ Dragon strip. Delta Company set up patrol bases and will use Saturation Patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0705hrs all patrols are moving out, the 62 to BS740400, 63 to BS708389, 12 to BS715403 and the 13 element to BS700390. At 0950hrs Delta Company EOD team blew a 500pound bomb that was found yesterday at BS723415. At 1840hrs Delta Company spotted 2 VC/NVA with weapons and dressed in blue and green at BS735415. They were about 300 meters away and they lost them with negative results. At 1925hrs Delta Company we are in our Night Defense Position at BS736418 and 62 and 32 elements ambushes have been cancelled.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0610hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Scheduled Fires 3 and Observed Missions 6 for a total expended 74 HE, 4 WP and 71 Illumination. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
