Headquarters and Headquarter Company
March 30, 1968

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ O’Connor, with elements cutting the trails, looking for movement down into the Valley leading to the Coast and conducts a Security sweep south of Hiep Duc area looking for building or signs of traffic or build up, into these areas. Bravo Company 2-1 Infantry returns to their parent unit, Mission is called off because of weather.

Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0137hrs LZ Bronco at BS812383 reports small arms fire and mortars on Bronco perimeter. They also reports VC in Duc Pho Village, and they are now on Red Alert.

 

Alpha Company
March 30, 1968

Alpha Company and Bravo Company continued to use Search and Destroy Operations vicinity AT8326 and AT8525. At 0845hrs Alpha Company spots 20 to 30 individuals armed just wet of their night location vicinity AT848264 and Gun Ships where called.

 

Bravo Company
March 30, 1968

Bravo Company with Alpha Company continued to use their Search and Destroy Operation in their Area of Operation as they move north along the river still looking for a crossing.

 

Charlie Company
March 30, 1968

Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Dottie and LZ Uptight. At 1400hrs Charlie Company at BS714865 detained 1 VCS man will question and at 1900hrs Charlie Company (-) at LZ Dottie and C10 at LZ Uptight.

 

Delta Company
March 30, 1968

Delta Company moved from AT855240 to AT864232 checking along the River for crossing and security sweep. At 1840hrs Delta Company observed a 8 VC evading across the river and called in Artillery and Artillery was credited with 6 VC KBA at AT848264.

 

Echo Company
March 30, 1968

Echo Company and 4.2 platoon where now located on LZ O’Connor and set up to provide direct support to the Battalion. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ O’Connor.
