Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0130hrs Brigade the buffer zone was cleared from the 4 Regiment as far as Artillery but will need political clearance from them to fire Artillery. Control fire zone is from BS680600 to BS790600 to BS790585 to BS690585 to BS680585 to start for an indefinite status. At 1030hrs TMF Intelligence report Sting 74 Target B was activated by 4 personnel moving west to east at 3 miles per hour with metal detected. At 1120rhs Delta Company 54 and the Charlie Company 26 Engineer report our work location is at BS735610. At 1710hrs Charlie Company 26 Engineer a total of 27 hours were worked with 39 acres cleared in the area of BS732600 to BS730609 to BS731610 to BS735613. They destroy 1 bunker, 1 bobby trap, 1 105 round with 3 D7 operational, 1 is deadline with a damage rear belly pan and 1 deadline due to overheating. At 1935hrs Primo 3 we spotted 1 VC near a campfire at BS690610. He had a pack and tried to evade and we engaged resulting in 1 VC WIA and CIA. He was extracted to the 23 Medical and the pack went to Military Intelligence.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

At 1005hrs All Alpha Company elements have closed, and at 1030hrs Alpha Company we have now become OPCON to 4th Battalion 3rd Infantry.
Bravo Company

At 1750hrs Bravo Company an ambulance was requested for the one US with infected leg Line# 99.
Charlie Company
June 30, 1970
Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1640hrs Charlie Company the 54 element is in their Day Logger at BS763560 and Delta 54 element is moving to the Red Ball. At 2047hrs Charlie Company the Access Road security is in location.
Delta Company
June 30, 1970
Delta Company is uses Saturation Patrolling in their Area of Operations. At 0707hrs Delta Company the 15 element is at checkpoint 1 at BS738667 and the 35 element is at checkpoint 2 at BS722620 the 38 element is at checkpoint 1 at BS728626 and the 17 patrol is moving out to BS753649. At 1120hrs Delta Company 54 and the Charlie Company 26 Engineer report our work location is at BS735610. At 1135hrs Delta Company Charlie Company 26 Engineer we spotted 2 VC suspects in the area who evaded to the northwest. The US element with Delta 56 was never closer the 200 meters and could not positively identify as VC both were dressed in black. At 1800hrs Delta Company 54 element has closed on LZ Liz. At 1940hrs Delta request Urgent Dust Off for one US with severe abdominal pains and possible abdominal pains and possible appendicitis, line #1315 completed at 1959hrs, vicinity BS715638. At 2004hrs Delta Company the 16 element is at BS749648, the 18 element is at BS750680, the 35 element is at BS726627 and the 38 element is at BS699616. SP4 Robert L Moore and PFC Kenneth Schueler is where evac to 91st Evac Hospital.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0540hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Fire Mission 2 for a total expended of 57 HE and 22 WP rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0703hrs Recon all elements are in the Day Logger except the 25 element with Day logger is at BS763560 and they closed at 0715hrs. At 0823hrs Recon Platoon we picked up 71 detainees while moving to the snake location to the Day Logger. They were picked up at BS761578, BS757571, BS756567 and BS769565. 40 females, 75% Military age, 1 male age 60, and 30 Vietnamese children all with no ID. MACV Mo Duc is sending out an IPW team to question the detainees. The result 3 evac to MO Duc MACV and approximately 22 to 25 were classified as VC and dressed in black. At 1110hrs Recon the 22 snake is at BS765549, the 23 element is at BS778556, the 24 snake is at BS753545 and the 25 element is at BS755558. At 1650hrs Recon Platoon the 25 element while moving from the Day Logger to the northeast received small arms fire, 25 to 30 rounds, 1 with pack slightly wounded, Line # 42H has a small amount of frag in the nose but does not require a Dust Off. At 1730hrs Recon Platoon we request an urgent Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese child with a gunshot wound in the mouth. The Vietnamese was wounded by the Vietnamese forces during the contact with sniper fire. The Dust Off was complete grid BS763560 at 1745hrs. At 2042hrs Recon Platoon the 22 snake is at BS765549, the 23 snake is at BS778556, the 24 snake is at BS753545 and the 25 element is at BS755558. SP4 Marcos Velez was attached to the 91st Evac Hospital (11B20).
