Headquarters and Headquarter Company
July 30, 1969

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1200hrs LZ Liz routine Dust Off request for 1 Vietnam female, frag wounds of chest by US Artillery or mortar completed at 1330hrs.

Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.

Alpha Company
July 30, 1969

At 0655hrs Alpha Company 63 element has closed on our Night Defense Position and the found a military certificate that belonged to the NVA KIA. At 0840hrs leaving Night Defense Position will call in Day Logger position when we get there, Day Logger at BS763451 and at 0732hrs 85 and 14 elements doing cloverleaf around the area of Alpha Company location BS763451 on a search of Day Logger found 50 cal ammo cans full of all types of medical supplies plus a bunch of clothes (civilian type) we will continue the search. Found a sandbag full of NVA ponchos. At 1225hrs have 2 females one had medical supplies and is believed to be the wife of a VC medic. She was caught at 1100hrs at BS762455. The other female was captured around 1130hrs, after she was running and tried to hide in a spider hole. Alpha Company at 1925hrs moved into their Night Defense Position site vicinity BS757438. The Alpha Company 13 element snake at this time is in their location.

Bravo Company
July 30, 1969

At 0815hrs Bravo Company have reached their Day Logger at BS816474 and reports the 85 Patrol to BS809474, the Bravo Company 16 element Patrol to BS810473 and the 65 Patrol to BS811468. Bravo Company is moving in to Night Defense Position at BS827450 with snakes 13 at BS819454 and sub element at BS820448.

Charlie Company
July 30, 1969

At 0805hrs Charlie Company is moving out of the Night Defense Position and headed to their Day Logger at BS740467. At 1908hrs Charlie Company moving into our Night Defense Position at BS738457 and at 2025hrs snakes is now moving out to their positions. The 13 element was moving to snake location spotted (5 to 6 VC/NVA) going into Ville, took them under fire and now them will checked out area with negative results. The 13 element continue to ambush location will recheck in the morning, Snake location 13-BS741453, 14-BS728444, 63-BS725452, and 67-BS729452.

Delta Company
July 30, 1969

Delta Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz.

Echo Company
July 30, 1969

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0830hrs 4.2 Platoon reports DT 1, Schedule 11, Observed Mission 2 total expend: 50 HE, 2 WP rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense coordination.
