Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1400hrs E Troop at BS814474, observed individual moving on beach, fired warning shots, Individual dropped package and fled. Package was a mine and destroyed, still looking of man.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
March 2, 1968
At 1017hrs Alpha Company at 875538, found. Chi Com hand grenades and Military Intelligence has possession. At 1045hrs Alpha Company found a tunnel, nothing in it, not destroyed yet. At 1130hrs Alpha Company 2nd platoon found a M-79 round and destroyed in place. At 1200hrs Company 1st Platoon is at BS874337, 2nd Platoon at BS870340 with 3rd Platoon at BS866339. At 1815hrs Alpha Company at BS845305, hit a booby trap possible artillery shell, 2 US KHA, 4 US WHA one serious and 3 WHA fair condition. The 2 US KHA were (Demateis and Stoneky). All individuals wore flak jackets, 1 man was 10 meters from the Blast one man 15 meters, 1 man 30 meters, 1 man 50 meters, 1man 75 meters and one man was 125 meters away. One VC wound was from 50 to 60 meters from blast. Booby trap was set off by trip wire. At 1414hrs Alpha Company at BS866325, detained 1 VCS evading, he was wounded by the booby trap evac by Dust Off at 1835hrs and at 1430hrs at BS850313 detained one more VCS. The VCS wound while evading was Dust Off at 1835hrs. At 2045hrs Alpha Reports their Night Defense Position at BS845304 with ambushes at 846312 and 842303. PFC DANNY MIRE STONEKING LISTED AS KHA and PFC DAVID KELL DEMATTEIS LISTED AS KHA. Charlie Company reports the following SP4 Charles McCoole, SP4 Francisco Navarro, PFC Edward Roach, and SGT Carlson W. Henry where evac to the 85th Evac Hospital.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company is located at LZ Bronco finishing up their Stand Down and at 2020hrs Bravo Company ambush report 6 rounds mortar landed 600 meters from their position, called MACV Duc Pho Advisor, he states RF firing in area, 1 Platoon RF moving to area suspected VC Platoon at BS815355.
Charlie Company

At 0900hrs Charlie Company is at LZ Dottie taking over their Security Mission. At 1420hrs Charlie Company at BS632875, Dust Off call for 2 VCS were wounded by mine both approximately 20 years old. Then Charlie Checked the area where 2 VCS were hurt and found one entrenching tool, pair of pliers and what appeared to be a home mad booby trap made out of a C Ration can. At 1805hrs Charlie Company at LZ Dottie with a ambush at BS637847.
Delta Company
March 2, 1968
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder and has 1st Platoon is working the area around the area where the Trawler came ashore.
Echo Company
March 2, 1968
Echo Company and 4.2 platoon where located on LZ Thunder to provide direct support to the Battalion. At 1200hrs the Recon Platoon is located at LZ Thunder. At 2045hrs the Recon Platoon is again located with Alpha Company at BS845304.
