Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0120hrs Brigade Highway 1 from the 23 gridline (east to west) to I and II Corp Boundary will not be provided with security from 020600 to 021800 but will be swept. At 0400hrs Radar sighted 1 person moving west at BS828403 and at BS805432 10 to 15 stationary personnel where sighted with Bravo Company informed. At 0425hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC Radar Targets at 1740hrs TMF sighted personnel at BS729427 with negative clearance, at 1905hrs 15 to 20 personnel were sighted at BS809422 with MACV informed, at 1940hrs 8 to 10 stationary personnel were sighted at BS831431 with 28 HE expended of Artillery 105mm. At 2100hrs 10 to 15 stationary personnel were sighed BS837430 and engaged with 21 HE of Artillery 105mm and at 2210hrs 6 to 8 personnel were sighted at BS726442 and 7 HE of Artillery 105mm were expended. At 0350hrs 10 to 15 personnel were sighted at BS805432 with 6 HE of Artillery 155mm expended. At 0600hrs MACV Mo Duc Civilians will be cutting bamboo in the same area as yesterday. At 0751hrs Charlie Company and 26 Engineer the engineers are working on their vehicles today and will remain in their Day Logger today. At 0945hrs, Delta Company 4-21 Infantry we have 7 females, ages 20 to 65, and one male age 45-50, no ID. We also have an undetermined number of military age males, who evaded to our east and we were unable to capture any vicinity BS754554. At 1045hrs Delta Company 4-21 infantry reports that all the detainees were released, as innocent civilians by our Kit Carson Scout. At 1230hrs TMF String 71 sighted 7 personnel, moving southwest to northeast at 4 miles per hour with no metal confirmation, 8 HE of Artillery 105mm were fired at 1236hrs. At 1431hrs Brigade in the past few days 2 incidents where VC dressed in ARVN clothing have stopped vehicles on Highway 1 and killed the occupants. All personnel having to travel on Highway 1 should be cautioned on the above information and action be taken against it in the future. At 1708hrs Delta Company 4-21 Infantry at grid BS754554 we found 2000 pounds in a 5’ hole and wrapped in plastic with 2 100 pound bags and 2 50 pounds of potatoes. At 1940hrs Charlie Company 4-3 Infantry we are in our Night Defense Position at BS778557. At 1950hrs Delta Company the Command Post is at BS760454 and the 74 element is at BS755555. At 2050hrs Delta Company 4-21 Infantry you are to be at the PZ of BS728556 no later than 0845hrs tomorrow for vehicles to pick you up. Delta Company 1-20 Infantry 74 element will be relieving you prior to your moving out. The element is to move out at 0545hrs to BS754554. At 2210hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC LZ Liz had a practice alert.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1200hrs Bravo Company a 2 ½ ton truck on the Red ball received 1 round of AK47 fire from the east. It occurred just north of Duc Pho with 1 man wounded in the right arm, Crespo (Delta Company), and was returned to LZ Bronco by ambulance, at grid BS796395.
Alpha Company

At 1445hrs Alpha Company is moving to their re supply point on the 515. Alpha Company are running cordon and search operations along with day Ambushes in their Area of Operation. At 1730hrs Alpha Company the 97 and the 98 elements found 12 tons of unpolished rice hidden under some straw at BS750474 and it will be extracted to Bronco.
Bravo Company

At 1015hrs Bravo Company 76 element at 804457 found 2 booby traps and at BS800463 found 3 booby trap all blown in place. At 1200hrs Bravo Company a 2.5-ton truck on the Red Ball received one round of AK 47 fire from the east. It occurred just north of Duc Pho with one man wounded in the right arm Crespo, and was returned to Bronco by an ambulance, grid BS796395. At 1440hrs Bravo Company 78 is moving to BS786406 to blow in place a 8" and 155mm found earlier. At 1750hrs Bravo Company the 99 element detained one male 45 and one female 35 where building a hootch inside a wood line gird BS775431 sent to MACV. At 2140hrs Bravo Company 18 element spotted on VC 75 meters east of their snake location at BS832394, he was pursued but we lost him upon return to snake location they spotted 3 VC with weapons, 75 meters south and engaged with small arms with no return fire.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. The access road security and snakes in location at 2015hrs and at 2210hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC LZ Liz had a practice alert.
Delta Company

At 1405hrs Delta Company the total rice extracted from Delta Company is 12,000 and Delta Company 4-3 Infantry has (30) 100 pounds for a total of 13,000 pounds extracted. There is 9,700 pounds at Delta Company ready for extraction. Since 21 May 1970 a total of 190,500 pounds have been extracted. At 1710hrs Delta Company 94 element found a couple of cache totaling 2,200 pounds at BS736561 wrapped in plastic. At 1915hrs Delta Company request a priority Dust Off for 1 US with malaria symptoms Line # 56H, completed at 1925hrs. At 2025hrs Delta Company locations Command Post BS741568, the 74 element BS741568, and the 94 element in the vicinity BS737560. 2050hrs Delta Company 4-21 Infantry you are to be at the PZ of 728556 no later than 0845hrs tomorrow for vehicles to pick you up. Delta Company 1-20 Infantry 74 element will be relieving you prior to your moving out. The element is to move out at 0545hrs to 754554. Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0601hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Fire Mission 9 for a total expended of 22 HE and 40 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 0700hrs Recon Platoon all elements are in location at BS775582 and will be here most of the day. At 1700hrs Recon the 94 element is moving to BS730595, the 96 element is at BS929580 and the 94 element is moving to BS730585. At 2000hrs Recon the 94 snake is at BS730595, the 95 snake is at BS728588 and the 96 element is at BS729580.
