Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0630hrs E Troop tracks will be operating on freg 43.30 Zulu 12 will be operating on this push also. Brigade M-Boats should arrive between 0830hrs and 0900hrs when they arrive, TOC will inform Brigade. At 0655hrs Brigade Weather Bulletin: Severe weather warning from 020900hrs to 021400hrs December 1969 to from the northeast at 15 knots and gusts to 30 knots with isolated winds up to 35 to 40 knots. Alpha Company has been informed. At 1120hrs E Troop the tanks and tracts are leaving you Area of Operations and won’t be back tomorrow. At 1745hrs Brigade when the plans are formulated they will be sent to LZ Liz.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion. At 1545hrs S-4 Lot # MA118, hand grenades, frag. Is suspended, turn in to S-4 if you have any on hand, all units informed.
Alpha Company
December 2, 1969
Alpha Company will continue their Security Mission for Land Clearing Operation. Alpha Company 12 snake closed on the Night Defense Position at 0650hrs. M Boats should arrive around 0900hrs Alpha Company was informed. At 1100hrs Alpha Company Urgent Requests for a Dust Off we have one US who fell off a M Boat. He almost drowned and swallowed a lot of sea water he is a littler patient and is in very bad shape. The Command and Control helicopter will made the pick up at 1105hrs the Naval personnel Oates. At 1135hrs the M Boats broke station due to weather conditions. We will determine if they are to come back this afternoon or not, we have two loads ready. The 32 and 72 elements have closed on 829410 and in a few minutes later moved back to our Night Defense Position.
Bravo Company
December 2, 1969
At 0550hrs Bravo Company 0550hrs snake 76 closed on BS787424 Southern Bridge and at 0600hrs 75 has closed on BS787424. At 0630hrs the 33 snake is moving into Twin Ville at BS776446. At 0740hrs Bravo Company the interpreter has been reported AWOL since yesterday. Bravo Company continued to use Recon in Force, Sweep and Clear, and Multiple Patrolling in their Area of Operation today. At 1200hrs Bravo Company our Rangers are at checkpoint 2 at BS812411. At 1330hrs Bravo Company Rangers have reached checkpoint 6 at BS801422. At 1610hrs Bravo Company reports the Ranger element has closed on BS783433. At 1645hrs Bravo Company the 72 element is moving to BS819409. At 1805hrs Bravo Company tango will conduct a Recon in Force along grid 44 to LZ Liz. At 1830hrs Bravo 32 and 33 elements are at BS764452 and the 35 element is at BS762444. At 1847hrs the 72 snake while moving to location came upon a hootch with 3 females in it. The PF with the 72 element say that one of these women is a VC. They are holding the woman. She is 30 years old and has no ID and we will hold her for pick up in the morning at grid BS819409. At 2131hrs Bravo Company concerning the 1 female VCS the 72 element picked up at BS819409, she was released after being question in detail. At 2245hrs Bravo Company 72 element while on their sweep up three VC evading to a bunker (2 male and 1 female) age 15, 23, and 25, no ID, they are said to be VC and we are holding them for pick up. At 2340hrs Bravo Company reports 12 and 15 elements have closed on BS783433 and at 2348hrs the 35 element has closed on BS778446.
Charlie Company
June 2, 1969
At 0755hrs Charlie Company the 32 element has left my location and is going on their patrol. At 0816hrs Bravo Company Command Post and the 12 element will move out and the 72 element will stay behind to clean up the Night Defense Position site at grid BS796477. At 0900hrs Charlie Company reports 32 location at BS821434 and the 72 is located at BS788473. At 1115hrs Charlie Company the 12 element had 1 VC, 20, no ID, and interpreter says is VC and we are taking him to Command Post at BS791426. At 1145hrs Charlie Company the 32 element has closed on BS794489. At 1225hrs Charlie Company initial contact report: The 12 element while moving back to their Command Post made contact with 8 NVA/VC in blue uniforms. They had 3 known weapons. Negative casualties on either side, and we requested Gun Ships. At 1520hrs Charlie Company 12 and 32 elements have picked up 3 VC suspects one male, 2 old women who may have some information on the VC/NVA grid BS796477. At 1555hrs Charlie Company on the sweep after the contact we saw new bunkers and stacks of firewood and straw. There were rice holes from which the rice was extracted, and fresh footprints. At 1700hrs Charlie Company we are moving out for BS811445. At 1825hrs Charlie Company moved into their Night Defense Position at BS809451. At 1920hrs Charlie Company 12 is located at BS785490 and at 1920hrs 72 has closed on BS797490.
Delta Company
December 2, 1969
Delta Company will continue their Security Missions for LZ Liz. At 1823hrs Delta Company reports that their 14 snake at BS763436, 34 snake at BS767440, 74 snake at BS766449, 75 snake at BS732414, 14 snake at vicinity BS752444 and 15 snake at BS766406 by 1901hrs.
Echo Company
December 2, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0615hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Supporting Missions 13, Observed Missions 2 and Defense Targets 2 with total expend 63 HE and 2 WP rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and 1-20 Infantry.
