Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations and OPCON to the 1-20 Infantry. At 1125hrs Alpha Company 3-1 Infantry conducts a Combat Assault, into grid BS748381 1 PZ 0911hrs and last LZ 1123hrs. At 1315hrs Brigade Message 2 M-Boats will arrive at the beach about 1200hrs 30 October, their mission is to pick up 3 APC that are dead-lined. Alpha Company is still providing security for the Gaza Strip Operation.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued the Security Mission for Clearing Operation. At 1315hrs Alpha Company reports land clearing total for the day is 200 areas, grid BS796479, BS797476, BS804484, BS808480 and tomorrow area is BS799475, BS806481, BS80847 and BS7969473.
Bravo Company

At 0030hrs Bravo Company, the Vietnamese with our 91 element have refused to cross the river and will not move out on their mission. At 0745hrs Bravo Company at BS783433 engaged 1 NVA with results I NVA cleaning pouch and where body was dragged thru a rice paddy. The Bravo Company with Vietnamese continued to use Recon in Force patrolling along with Sweep and Clear operations. At 1335hrs Bravo Company with PRU at BS793448 found 2 tons of unpolished rice in tunnel, Rice was Evac.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company using multiple Recon in Force Patrols in their Area of Operation. At 1648hrs Charlie Company about 200 outside of our perimeter found a Chi Com grenade and blew it in place. The 01 element found a NVA Canteen, which we will send in. At 1820hrs Charlie Company we are moving into our Night Defense Position.
Delta Company

Delta Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0603hrs 4.2 Platoon report no expenditure. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0630hrs Recon at grid BS833438, we picked up 2 VCS, 1male Vietnamese and 1 female Vietnamese, Kit Carson Scout says the male is VC we will detain for Command and Control Helicopter to pick up. At 1105hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS828413.
