Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0910hrs Brigade reports the 179 PF at BS814363 when returning from their snake was ambush they received small arms fire and were mortared. The results were 1 PF KIA, 1 Vietnamese National KIA and 4 National civilians WIA, there was no damage to the bridge.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
March 29, 1970
At 1333hrs Alpha Company 36 spotted a group of Vietnamese at BS774356 tending their cattle a short distance from these people there are 3 personnel dressed in black trying to hide in hedgerow. Warlord has check out area with negative finding. At 1605hrs Alpha Company we need a Urgent Dust Off for 1 US with heat exhaustion, line #E7187 and is going into shock, Dust Off complete at 1615hrs. At 1835hrs Alpha Company we have closed on our Night Defense Position at BS764347.
Bravo Company
March 29, 1970
At 0750hrs Bravo Company the 64 element found small rice cache at BS773401, it was 1,000 pounds. At 0911hrs the 15 element picked up 6 female detainee ages 35 to 45 at BS789446, all dressed in black, with ID. The PF held for interrogation. At 1135hrs the 35 element spotted 10 to 15 (VC/NVA) dressed in ARVN camouflaged fatigues and the 36 element engaged with small arms fire and the 36 element received 10-15 rounds of automatic fire with negative US Casualties, the VC evaded to the southeast. Checking the area found one M-1 Carbine, one US Claymore CIA, 1 M67 grenade, one NVA Ammo belt, one pack and 2 female detainee, (45 of age), one with ID and one without ID. At 1616hrs Bravo Company 17 element spotted several personnel evading to the east BS798440, we have 12 females detainee and spotted 3 VC/NVA evading into the wood line. We end up releasing 8 female and 4 sent back to MACV. At 2030hrs Bravo Company the 66 element spotted 5 personnel at BSBS765454, 10 to 15 at BS779458 and are calling in Artillery on both location. At 2045hrs we are receiving fire from BS775430 and the area were engaged with small arms fire, 50 cal. and 81mm mortar.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Delta Company
March 29, 1970
Delta Company set up Patrol bases and will again used Saturation Patrolling in our Area of Operation. Delta Company did find and destroy 1 500 pounds bomb at Delta 62 vicinity of BS710400.
Echo Company
March 29, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0630hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Scheduled Fires for a total expended of 12 He, 3 WP and 24 Illumination. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense.
