Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0525hrs 1-20 Infantry LZ Liz Southern OP spotted several lights bottom hill, called in illumination and 81mm mortar, lights started moving south to rived and calling in 81mm mortars with unknown results. At 0940hrs 1-20 Infantry Dust Off 5 Civilians by Command and Control Helicopter with artillery frag wounds, 3 from Village at BS776454, 2 from BS752447 ages 2 females 40 and 45 with 2 kids 4-13 and 1 baby 1 year old. At 0950hrs LRRP Idaho vicinity BS684354 found base camp complete with bunkers and spider holes, much movement in the area. At 1010hrs LRRP vicinity BS684354 found 15 trenches and bunkers, negative movement fresh dirt from tunnels and trenches has been hidden under trees and bushes. AT 1040hrs 1-20 Infantry at LZ Liz request Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese female with frag wounds in back to LZ Bronco. At 1050hrs LRRP Idaho found 51 caliber AA craft gun position and booby trap made of bamboo sticks with other booby traps, have a total of 20 bunkers 8 booby traps, and ridge also has tunnels. At 1140hrs 174 Aviation vicinity BS802479 1 gun ship hit, 1 gun ship rocket pad blew up. At 1200hrs Delta Company and E Troop 1 Cav became OPCON to 1-20 Infantry. At 1155hrs Delta Company 3-1 Infantry and E Troop 1 Cav at BS780375 in contact with unknown size enemy force unit is pinned down by Automatic weapons fire, with 3 WIA (E). At 1315hrs total 7 WIA (E) was completed. At 1515hrs Command and Control Helicopter 3-1 Infantry received hits in generator return to LZ Bronco. At 1545hrs 174 Aviation received hit and return to LZ Bronco. At 1700hrs Dust Off completed for totals Delta Company 3-1 has 4 MIA and 10 WIA (E) with E Troop 1 CAV reports 6 WIA and 174 Aviation reports 1 WIA (E). At 1520hrs LRRP Idaho set up their Night Defense Position and ambush position and at 1605hrs report to hear wood pounding approximately 1000 meters from our location. At 1800hrs LRRP Idaho receiving single shot fire negative casualties and at 1948hrs extracted.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and will continue their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0740hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer at BS857319 found Bridge106 is burned down, was also blown at both ends, this is a by pass at that location. At 0925hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer found road block at BS890270 consisting of Barb Wire, wood and bushes with results cleared road and continued mine sweep. At 0925hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer at BS892337 received 3 rounds of sniper fire.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown with security of bridges. At 1015hrs Alpha Company reports locations are 82 at BS918242 and 32 at BS931248. At 1045hrs Reference attack on Charlie Brown last night, engineer who had 3 LCU hit by rocket fire found 1 that had lodged in it and the round was identified as a 75mm recoilless round. At 1200hrs Alpha 82 is at BS917254 and 32 closed back on Charlie Brown.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder and at 0705hrs Bravo Company conducts a Combat Assault from LZ Thunder to LZ BS895296 and BS89296 completed at 0710hrs with the 82 at BS895296 and 32 at BS907286. At 0820hrs Bravo Company found 1 claymore and booby trap in hut vicinity BS905290, there was no C4 in the claymore. At 0825hrs Bravo Company Dust Off for Vietnamese female gunshot in side at 0920hrs and at BS897296 detained 4 VCS taken to Liz and released 2 and 2 detained the males.
Charlie Company

Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1045hrs Delta Company is moving. At 1140hrs Delta Company vicinity BS758458 found 3 motor cycles, 1 damage and hidden and 3 were new but unassembled also 2 male VCS CIA trying to evade when they spotted us.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0730hrs Recon Platoon at BS897296 detained 2 men negative weapons or ID where evac to LZ Bronco. At 0820hrs Recon Platoon at BS905290 found 1 claymore mine with out C-4 also at 0820hrs request Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese female accidently shot by PF.
