Headquarters and Headquarter Company
June 29, 1968
Forward Area 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder as the Battalion returns to Control of the 11th Light Infantry Brigade Control in the Duc Pho Area of Operation. At 0800hrs Division time for Bravo Company 4-21 Infantry move to Chu Lai. At 0940hrs Bravo Company 19th Engineer PF compound at bridge 115 received several satchel charges last night. Found 1 satchel charge, which was taken down the river by engineers and blown in place. At 1920hrs Operation Chattahoochee Swamp ended at DATE/TIME 291725 June 1968.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0305hrs LZ Bronco TOC fire on top of Montazuma started about 0100hrs, started blazing out of control approximately 0250hrs all wire to remote radios in TOC and telephone burned out at approximately 0305hrs. FSA they supplied a fire.
Alpha Company

At 1342hrs Alpha Company at BS766388 found a hooch with composition B and C-4 inside detained 1 VCS age 16, he was inside the hootch. VCS had ID card will evac VCS and destroy C-4. At 1832hrs Alpha Company is at their Night Defense Position at BS764393 with ambushes at 11 BS764398, 20 BS764399 and BS762393.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 1835hrs Bravo Company (-) reports locations at LZ Thunder with Bravo Night Defense Position at BS789401 with ambushes at 21 BS764399, 32BS762393, 20 BS789401, 21 BS788403.
Charlie Company
June 29, 1968
At 1714hrs Charlie Company at BS806274 found 2 hooch’s inside were 1 AK 47, 1 30 cal Bar Magazine, 15 bundles of rice seeding, destroyed. At 1831hrs Charlie Company reports they are in their Night Defense Position with ambushes at 10 BS818274, 20 BS820284 and 30 BS815277.
Delta Company
June 29, 1968
At 1010hrs Delta Company 20 at BS906286 working with Military Intelligence found a tunnel, tunnel was in hedgerow, 4'’to 6'’long, 2'’diameter, found 1 M-1 SN# 56305663. Rifle shock on the M-1 was broken had grenade frag in stock, found 3 Chi Com grenades, 1 homemade Chi Com grenade, 1 claymore in tack, 12 M-79 rounds, 2-10 pounds satchel charges and 1 ˝ pound block of TNT. At 1035hrs Delta Company at BS907287 found 1500 pounds of rice in one large container, polished rice in hooch. At 1153hrs Delta Company at BS904290 found tunnel with 1 VC KIA, male, 25, dressed in black PJ, ID says he was 43, District Tax collector. Also a Tunnel 3’ X 6’ found a Panasonic radio and 1 GI blanket in the tunnel will evac any documents found. At 1441hrs Delta Company at BS906286 located tunnel 8’ X 3’ found 3 VCS inside. VCS 1 age 40 Military Intelligence says he is Platoon Leader, 1 age 27, one 15 says he has been working for the VC for 3 years, also found some documents and books will evac to LZ Bronco. At 1900hrs Delta Company has established their Night Defense Position at BS883253 with 11 BS882238, and 13 878242.
Echo Company
June 29, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they continue to provide direct fire support for the Battalion. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown. At 1835hrs Recon ambushes 30 BS917285 and 33A at BS921279. At 1200hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at LZ Bronco for their Stand Down.
