Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1010hrs FAC 35 is putting in Air Strike into grid BS802475 grid is clear. AJAX Alpha Company 83, Bravo Company 77, Charlie Company 83, Delta Company 97, Recon 17 and 4.2 24. At 1720hrs LZ Liz Priority Dust Off request for 1 Vietnam female multiple frag wounds over entire body, hit by US artillery, completed at 1743hrs.
Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.
Alpha Company
July 29, 1969
At 0635hrs Alpha Company at BS745456, we have 8 females VCS and 4 male VCS, to be picked up. We picked them up in a Ville that some VC/NVA evaded into last night. At 1000hrs the 83 and 13 element at grid BS729456 will sweeping through area. Alpha Company all elements closed on Night Defense Position while sweeping through area found 1 NVA rucksack grid BS720456. At 2110hrs Alpha Company heard movement east of our Night Defense Position check out with negative results.
Bravo Company
July 29, 1969
At 0600hrs Bravo Company at BS795445, the VCS that we were holding died during the night, but we still have one Vietnamese with an injury of right leg and one with part of a foot blown off called Dust Off at 0600hrs complete at 0645hrs. At 0640hrs we have a VCS to be picked up by Command and Control helicopter. He was crawling around a rice paddy hiding from US when he was spotted approximately 18 to 25, green shirt and tan shorts. At 0825hrs 82, 23 and 19 elements are moving out to link up with snake. At 0827hrs Bravo Company at BS795445, reports the KIA last night had on his person several VC documents investigation of papers states he was the finance chief for VC, Papers turned in to Military Intelligence. At 0905hrs Bravo Company 82, 23, and Command Post elements at grid BS803452, with the 63 element moving to grid BS802461, the 13 elements is moving to grid BS810455. At 1145hrs the Bravo Company 63 element closed on the Day Logger this afternoon sweep to BS792474 also a Recon in Force was conducted with a center of mass at BS801473. (Ajax is 77) At 1910hrs Bravo Company while making a sweep through the area where they received heavy contact a few days ago, spotted personnel. They started to run ordered them to stop, shot warning shots over their heads, they kept running had plenty of chance to stop, but did not stop. We took them under fire, results in 3 VC females KIA 18 to 22. 1 VCS females with gunshot wound to the stomach, none of these people had an ID’s cards, Dusted Off the one female VCS, it looks like the female (Dusted Off) had recent sexual intercourse (indicating young men were in the area, possible VC/NVA). Urgent Dust Off for 1 female VCS gunshot wound in right arm and right side of stomach. (LT Richard Gibson) heat exhaustion pick up site BS793468 completed at 1920hrs. At 2115hrs Bravo Company moved in to Night Defense Position at BS798474 with the 66 snake at BS801473 and the 65 at BS795474.
Charlie Company

At 0910hrs Charlie Company is at their Day Logger at BS743468. At 2030hrs Charlie Company moving into their Night Defense Position at BS733477 and the 63 snake at BS726484, with the 83 snake is at BS720493.
Delta Company
July 29, 1969
Delta Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Echo Company
July 29, 1969
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. 4.2 Platoon reports DT 6, Schedule Millions 13, Observed Mission 3 total expend: 45 HE, 7 WP and 12 Illumination rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 1150hrs Recon Platoon is using a Recon in Force center of Mass BS801473 with Day Logger at BS816470 and snake for tonight. At 1345hrs Recon Platoon closed on LZ Bronco at this time.
