Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0005hrs MACV Quang Ngai reports at 2230hrs 28 July 1968 received 6 mortar, rounds, results 2 Vietnamese WHA and 2 (02 air craft) slightly damaged. At 0755hrs Bravo Company 19th Engineer at BS753500 found mine pressure type, charge 30-40 pounds 4" deep and 7" diameter blew in place. At 1540hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC reports Swift Boats at BS9423 received small arms fire from coast line, negative casualties and returned fire. At 1547hrs 1-20 Infantry sent troops into area of enemy activity with negative results, had Swift Boats check Vietnamese boats off shore. They detained 1 VCS with no ID Card. At 1725hrs 1-20 Infantry reports E Troop at BS843327 found 1 RPG, 3 HE hand grenade, by bridge 412.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
July 29, 1968
Alpha Company will continue with their Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 1035hrs Alpha Company at BS875325, 1 US stepped on an M-14 mine. The results 1 US WHA Frag in foot and legs Dust Off completed at 1045hrs. PFC Marvin Leeks was evac with frag wounds to 2nd Surgical Hospital at 1050hrs.
Bravo Company

At 0813hrs Bravo Company vicinity BA TO Special Forces Camp had an accident resulting in 3 men hurt, 2 men with slight frag wounds in neck and shoulders and 1 man had more frag wounds in left leg and thigh, evac to LZ Bronco. At 1430hrs Bravo 30 at BS555396 engaged 1 VC evading results 1 VC KIA.
Charlie Company

At 0800hrs Charlie Company location is at BS773372 with Platoons at BS774375 and BS775390. At 0952hrs Charlie Company locations is as following 1st platoon and Command Post at BS773362 with 2nd Platoon at BS776367 and 3rd Platoon at BS778362. At 1815hrs Charlie 1st and 3rd Platoon and Command Post at BS767383, 21 snake at BS758398 and 22 snake at BS759368, and 23 snake at BS753384. At 2055hrs Charlie Company at BS757392 moving to ambush position observed a VC female run into a hooch alerted 4 VC males wearing black PJ engaged 1 VC KIA female possible WIA one of the males, wearing black PJ and no ID 18-20.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown with 2nd Platoon at BS915195 and 3rd Platoon at BS915257 as they continued to run Search and Clear missions in their Area of Operation. At 1815hrs Delta Company (-) is located at LZ Charlie Brown with Delta 20 Platoon Night Defense Position at BS909205, with 31 snake at BS925265, 32 snake BS912260, and 35 snake at BS916257. At 2000hrs Delta Company reports 12 snake has closed at BS937222.
Echo Company
July 29, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they continue to provide direct fire support for the Battalion. At 1201hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS521672 as they continue their Combat Mission with the Special Forces Camp at Ba To.
