Headquarters Company
January 29, 1968
Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 2014hrs from the Americal Division TOC Cease-fire is cancelled continued normal operation immediately and the 1968 Tet Offense is started by the VC and NVA. At 2210hrs 1-20 Infantry reported artillery fired on area at BS849275, where voices were heard previously, no voices were heard after mission fired.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1105hrs Task Force Utility ship is on the way be sure all mail for Task Force Baker and all connected units to be put on ship. Also representative will pick up equipment, also call Commo Officer to have labor money ready it will be picked up at this time.
Alpha Company
January 29, 1968
Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder and used multiple patrolling and night ambushes in their Area of Operation. At 1000hrs Alpha Company at BS846405 found 1 VC in tunnel, VC was told to come out and when he didn’t a grenade was thrown in tunnel. Results 1 VC KIA was dressed in a gray uniform. At 1345hrs Alpha Company reports at grid BS849396 captured 1 VC who evaded into a tunnel, has been evacuated to POW cage at LZ Bronco. At 1345hrs Alpha Company reports their locations 1st Platoon at BS854304, 2nd Platoon at 845406 and 3rd Platoon at BS862300. At 1510hrs Alpha Company at grid BS848306 found and searched hootch, found 1 clip of M-1 ammo, some VC documents and a small bag of medical supplies plus 2women VC had no ID, are going to bring them in for questions. At 1557hrs Alpha Company at grid BS851306 reports 1st Platoon received a round of sniper fire and are checking area now. At 1600hrs Alpha Company reports 1st Platoon at grid 851306 and bridges 106-108, 2nd Platoon at grid BS845406 with 3rd Platoon at BS858296.
Bravo Company
January 29, 1968
Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ OD and continued to use multiple patrolling and night ambushes in their Area of Operation. At 1115hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon is at BS854304 and the rest of the Company is at LZ OD and at the Bridges 104-105. At 1500hrs Bravo Company engaged 2 VC, results in 1 WIA, CIA and the other VC was hit and is being searched for following blood trails. The WIA VC had propaganda materials and 2 hand grenades on his belt Dust Off completed at 1525hrs. At 1800hrs Bravo Company 1st Platoon at BS776333, with 2nd Platoon at 104 and 105 bridges. At 2014hrs Americal Division TOC Cease-fire for Tet is cancelled continued normal operation immediately and the 1968 Tet offense is started by the VC and NVA.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company (Task Force Barker 198 Light Infantry Brigade) continued their Security Mission for LZ Dottie. At 1330hrs Charlie Company vicinity BS692824 engaged 3 VC result 1 VC KIA and had a homemade hand grenade. Charlie Company at 1430hrs Charlie Company request Dust Off for Wound Vietnamese child about 15 months old has wound in hip, Dust Off is completed. At 2014hrs Americal Division Message: Cease-fire is cancelled continued normal operation immediately and the 1968 Tet offense is underway by the VC and NVA.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 1115hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon at BS806302, 2nd Platoon is at BS906223, 3rd Platoon at the bridges. At 1600hrs Delta Company reports their location 1st Platoon at BS806302, 2nd Platoon at BS900623 and 3rd Platoon on bridges 99 and 100. At 1800hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon is BS803309, 2nd Platoon at BS902221 with the 3rd Platoon at bridges 99 and 100. At 2014hrs from the Americal Division Cease-fire is cancelled continued normal operation immediately and the 1968 Tet Offense is started by the VC and NVA.
Echo Company

Echo Company and 4.2 platoon and radar platoon where located on LZ Thunder to provide direct support to the Battalion. At 1346hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS799294. At 1600hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS780294. At 1800hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS780295.
