Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Dottie and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations. At 1004hrs 1-20 Infantry at BS613905 got a call from Bravo Company 38 Engineer that they had heavy contact from an unknown enemy size element, the 1-20 Infantry had a convoy behind the mine sweep and they received M-79 rounds, report to follow. Aerial Scouts is checking out area. At 1108hrs 11th Brigade TOC to 1-20 Infantry the mission of Charlie Company at Quang Ngai will end at 302400hrs September unless extended by Division, plan on moving Charlie Company from Quang Ngai on 1 October 1968. At 1105hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC reports Aerial Scouts at BS794842 engaged 4 VC evading into a cave with results 4 VC KIA. At 1117hrs Aerial Scouts at BS608890 report at BS908890 observed 6 VC evading just southwest of area where Bravo Company 39 Engineer received fire from, with results 1 VC KIA, 5 VCS man CIA. 1 VC had marks on back that appeared to be pack marks, will evac to LZ Dottie for questioning. At 1155hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC OP1 at BS527747 observed 3 VC digging a bunker, called in artillery resulting in 3 VC KIA. SGT Miller informed 11 Brigade would get credit for these kills. At 2230hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC reports OP 1 at BS505797 spotted 8 VC moving north and northeast toward LZ Bluff, called in artillery with negative assessment.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.

Bravo Company

Bravo Company and the Command Post located vicinity of BS569854 with 2 Listening Post approximate BS569855.
Charlie Company
September 28, 1968
Charlie and Delta Company move to LZ Buff and Delta takes over the Security Mission for LZ Buff. Charlie Company was airlifted to Quang Nagai Airstrip as a Reserve Force until October 1, 1968 and arrived at 1432hrs the move was completed.
Delta Company

Charlie & Delta Companies located at LZ Buff with Delta Company having the Security Mission for LZ Buff and Charlie Company being air lift to Quang Nagai Air Strip as Reaction Force started lift at 1348hrs and completed at 1432hrs. At 2230hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC reports OP 1 at BS505797 spotted 8 VC moving north and northeast toward LZ Bluff, called in artillery with negative assessment.
Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Dottie where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Dottie. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Dottie where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 1144hrs Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Dottie and the 1-20 Infantry.
