Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations. At 0810hrs E Troop at BS932222 a Vietnamese woman was brought on little to E Troop location and request Dust Off for her. She was walking along the beach last night and stepped on a mine or booby trap of some type causing frag wounds in the ankle, Dust Off completed at 0900hrs. At 0855hrs Message from Military Police the National Police and Military Police will be operating in grid BS7546 today. At 0903hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC requests a dog team to work with Delta Company will pick up at southeast pad at 1045 today. At 1034hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC reports Command and Control Helicopter detained 3 VCS, 2 VCS dress in white and 1 attempted to evade into a hooch’s will evac to POW Cage at LZ Bronco. At 1110hrs National Police and Military Police detained 4 men evading will evac to LZ Bronco for questioning. At 1430hrs Message to 1-20 Infantry and Delta Company 19 Engineer and E Troop on 30 October at 1200hrs the Duc Pho MACV will take over security of Bridge 111 at BS813363.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and at 0903hrs Alpha Company at BS787437 engaged 1 VC evading results 1 VC KIA looking in hedgerow for weapon now. Alpha Company location is LZ Liz with 43 at BS786425 with LRRP at BS753358. CPT Kenneth W. Bartlett assumed command of Alpha Company.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company has the Security Mission for LZ Dragon with some Defense Sweep.
Charlie Company

At 0942hrs Charlie Company 82 BS863364 and Charlie Company (-) has the Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 1100hrs Charlie Company elements located C 82 at BS861355 with LRRP at BS827272. At 1125hrs Charlie Company LRRP spotted 2 VC one was carrying a weapon it sounded like there may been more then 2, Command and Control helicopter is checking the area out at BS827267. At 1201hrs Charlie Company at BS857350 detain 5 VCS evading into Lake PFU are questioning them now. At 1245hrs Charlie Company LRRP out of the 5 VCS picked up by the above element they believe 3 of them are VC also found an impression of base plate at BS857350.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown and security for Bridge 84. At 0834hrs Delta Company reports ambushes have closed on LZ Charlie Brown.
Echo Company
October 28, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder and 2 squads on LZ Charlie Brown where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Dottie with 1 Platoon from Bravo Company.
