Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0845hrs 1-20 Infantry at 0830hrs vicinity BS888313 sharks engaged VC evading results is 13 VC KIA. At 1955hrs E Troop at Charlie Brown received 20 RPG rounds, results 1 Platoon Leader KIA. At 2055hrs 174th Gun Ships received fire at BS918242 with negative results. E Troop 1 Cav has 1LT ALVIN CLAYTON SCHUTE LISTED AS KIA.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
March 28, 1969
Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown with security of bridges. At 0825hrs Alpha Company report Bridge received one round sniper vice vicinity BS916205 negative casualties call in 81mm fire with negative results. At 0945hrs A 32 engaged and killed 2 VC evading and CIA 1 45caliber pistol (Serial # 2316567). At 1000hrs 32 is at BS917240 and at 1045hrs 32 detained 3 VCS, 2 males and 1 female evac to Charlie Brown, also had no weapons or ID. At 1410hrs the 32 is at BS918242, 33 at BS913259. At 1930hrs Alpha Company received 3 RPG rounds, at 2150hrs 52 Bridge 94, 54 Bridge 95, 37 at BS937228, and 87 at BS922221. At 2225hrs Alpha Company at Charlie Brown received 1 RPG or Recoilless Rifle went through 2 LSU’s and embedded in the 3rd one, removed successfully. At 2400hrs Alpha Company at BS910232 spotted 4 water buffalo’s and 6 VC called in Artillery with results unknown.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 0810hrs Bravo Company 2nd Platoon conducts a Combat Assault to vicinity BS8930. At 1230hrs Bravo Company 82 at BS899309 and detained 1 VCS and at 2150hrs 52 is at BS877308.

Delta Company
March 28, 1969
Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0340hrs Recon in vicinity BS715435 had 10-15 VC with weapons walk up in front of ambush site, sprung ambush results 1 WHA (E) and 2 WHA (M) unknown results. At 0745hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon Combat Assault from LZ Liz PZ 0738hrs and to grid BS714434, LZ 0743hrs. Delta Company is to help access out come of ambush sprung by Recon at 0345hrs this morning. At 0810hrs Bravo Company conducts a Combat Assault to BS8930, with Charlie Company moved out to Delta 82 and Recon at BS728430. At 1410hrs Delta Company and Recon have reached their extraction LZ location. At 1920hrs Delta Company 1 US received frag wounds while burning around LZ round exploded Dust Off at 1931hrs. At 1925hrs LZ Liz OP spotted at BS725445, 4 VC/NVA moving west to east with weapons, called artillery unknown results. At 2115hrs Delta Company 82 element is at BS765426. PFC Alan Conger was evac to 27th Surgical Hospital.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0345hrs Recon Platoon at BS715435 had 10-15 VC with weapons walk up in front of ambush site, sprung ambush results 1 WHA (E) and 2 WIA (M) negative enemy casualties. At 0800hrs Recon Platoon reports location back on LZ Liz. SP4 Paul A. LaFountain was evac to 315th Evac Hospital (11B20).
