We have 9 D7 operational and 1 D7 deadline with hole in radiator, 1 CEV operational, 1 AG and 1 M548 operational. At 1730hrs S-5 summary Operation family reunion 4 names submitted and 1 to be turned in tomorrow for leaflet requests rice production overlay from Mo Duc picked up, leaflet drops BS7461, BS7559, BS7242, BS7160, BS7063, tape time BS7461, BS7559, BS7242 and BS7268. At 1910hrs TMF report location of string 62 BS79963456. At 1955hrs MACV Mo Duc notified 1-20 Infantry that a Dust Off was needed at BS771461, urgent for several individuals injured when a hand frag grenade was thrown into a hootch, Primo 6 made Dust Off 7 personnel to LZ Bronco at 2000hrs. At 2050hrs from senior advisor Mo Duc District Major Whitt, Mo Duc District has Chieu Hoi from Don Luong hamlet BS7555 who states that he knows locations of 20 tons of rice located in 18 areas. In reaction Mo Duc District Chief has planned operations for tomorrow consisting of 1 RF Company 183, PF platoons 145 and 161 that will sweep from Highway 1 east to mangroves. They know location of rice as well as VC and VCI in area Chieu Hoi states he was a storekeeper that collected tax on rice collected by VC and stored rice that was turned over to VC carrying parties moving west to the mountains. Major Whitt stated that Chieu Hoi would be transferred to Charlie Company after the operation. At 2030hrs Charlie Company reports they multiply ambushes are in location and at 2200hrs 53 element’s rat patrol is moving out to BS7557. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company used Day Loggers and patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0645hrs Alpha Company the 75 element just moved 175 meters from the Night Defense Position and took 2 rounds of semi auto fire from 400 meters to their southwest. We caught sight of 2 people evading but could tell nothing about them. Our snipers are now checking the area of BS716612. At 0720hrs Alpha Company the 54 element has closed on BS724594 with the morning patrol cancelled. At 0950rhs Alpha Company 32 element is patrolling to check out 3 rice bag packs spotted by Primo. The element has closed with negative findings on the packs of rice. We found 1 dry well with a tunnel on the bottom at grid BS753648. At 1055hrs Alpha Company the 75 element has closed on BS726616. At 2155hrs Alpha Company reports their locations the 55 is at BS711620, 36 is at BS714635, 76 is at BS724625 and 75 is at BS722618.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their joint Operations with PF and RF units on their Hamlet Pacification and security of Highway 1. At 0955hrs Bravo Company 37 element is checking out Intelligence at grid BS7565 at location of the civilians working negative results and Bravo Med Cap was conducted at grid BS717637. At 1235hrs Bravo Company the 36 element is on a Med Cap. At 1740hrs Bravo Company 36 is at checkpoint 1 at BS725644. At 1805hrs Bravo Company the 35 element is at checkpoint 1 at BS725644. At 1955hrs Bravo Company is moving out 37 to BS746677, 36 to BS714635 and the 55 is at BS711620. At 2000hrs Bravo Company had treated 105 persons on Med Cap at BS7336656. At 2001hrs Bravo Company 76 is moving out to BS719585 and the 36 element in location at BS714635. At 2010hrs Bravo Company requested Urgent Dust Off for one US who hit a pressure release booby trap about hand frag size while moving out on ambush, #135 Duane Waldron, lost both legs, one hand Dust Off completed to LZ Bronco 2027hrs, at grid BS746667. At 2110hrs Bravo Company in location 55-BS711620, 36-BS714635, 76-BS719585 and 37 is moving to BS7516583. PFC DUANE EVERETT WALDRON was evac to the 91st Evac Hospital (See August 14, 1970).
Charlie Company

At 0455hrs Charlie Company the 53 element is moving to BS737576 and BS742569, the 36 element has closed on BS760556 and the 35 element is moving out to BS751557 as Charlie Company continued their saturation patrolling in their Area of Operations. At 0905hrs Charlie Company we request one urgent Dust Off for 1 PF hit a booby trap and frag wounds to the hip and abdomen completed at 0909hrs. At 0950hrs we request 1 priority Dust off for 1 female who was shot by a PF when she refused to stop wound in the side, completed at 0955hrs. Charlie Company a total of 5 females and 2 male detainees turned into Military Intelligence today.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz and their security mission for the Access Road.
Echo Company
July 28, 1970
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2Platoon providing direct Fire Support for the Battalion. At 0440hrs 4.2 Platoon reports no fire mission and no expenditures. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for the 1-20 Infantry.
