Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0138hrs Bronco Switch Board Operator called, request to know if we had Commo with LZ Snoopy Grid BS705610, check with Artillery NCO, he tried to raise them but to no available. Witch Board operator stated that an Urgent Dust Off pilot could not contact them. Only SITREP concerning Dust Off request presently is that ARVN were in contact, results 1 ARVN KIA and 4 ARVN WIA, at 0245hrs Dust Off was completed at 0145hrs to LZ Bronco. At 0245hrs G-2 Air called all Visual Recon where cancelled due to weather. At 1210hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC request from Brigade a 15 day extension on Area of Operation Extension B-52. At 1320hrs CPT Parker call Brigade TOC (CPT MacLeod) that a village at BS733543 had been hit by an unknown size VC/NVA force with unknown type explosives with results 5 KIA and 42 WIA, Dust Off and Re supply aircraft were being used for Med Evac to LZ Bronco. At 1330hrs 1-20 Infantry 4th ARVN LT Thuan has approved 1-20 Infantry extension on B-52. At 2035hrs LT Lewis 1-20 Infantry called and requested an extra Hook sortie for tomorrow also that the Dossier was operational at OP Woodstock at grid BS673572. At 2300hrs 1-20 Infantry reports that Delta 1-1 Calvary has broken station with negative findings.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
January 28, 1971
Alpha Company continued their Security Mission on LZ Liz along with Road Security vicinity BS760435 to BS776435. At 2235hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon at BS750455 had a Mechanical Ambush detonated, response with 4.2 fired Illumination area, negative finding, and will check at first light.
Bravo Company
January 28, 1971
At 0800hrs Bravo Company at BS680578 and continued to conduct multiple patrolling and multiple Day and Night ambushes in their Area of Operation. Bravo Company conducted multiple ambushes vicinity BS683582, BS682581, BS679583, BS679582, BS678581, BS691577, and BS690577. Bravo Company also conducted patrols in patrol in Upper Left at BS6757 and Lower Right BS7057.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued to work with multiple ambushes and multiple patrols in their Area of Operation and Charlie Company working with RF units with joint operations and working on OP Woodstock at BS673572 and BS699562. Charlie Company set up their Night Defense Position at BS699562 and BS689533.
Delta Company
January 28, 1971
Action in the Area of Operation was light, Delta Company using multiple patrolling and ambush through the Area of Operation. At 1400hrs Delta Company reports their location at BS735436. Delta Company 1st Platoon continued to work with RF 712 from OP Frag.
Echo Company
January 28, 1971
Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry and LZ Liz.
