Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1400hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC Secure Ripple Echo 102 will move from northwest to southeast meet at BS6362 will go through village of Ky Thonai, no coordination requested by this BTVO direct coordination was made by 1-20 Infantry S-2 informed this station. At 1315hrs 1-20 Infantry Command and Control helicopter at BS733590 has 1 VC KIA evading.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0810hrs Charlie Company 39 Engineer at BS718586 received 10 rounds sniper fire, no casualties, returned fire and continued Mine Sweep.
Alpha Company
December 28, 1968
At 0936hrs Alpha Company at BS648608 engaged 1 VC evading with results 1 VC KIA negative weapon or ID. At 1120hrs Alpha Company detained 4 VCS 2 males, 2 females, 1 at BS648608 and the other 3 at BS657605. At 1300hrs Alpha Company at BS648608 reports 1 VC KIA that was evading, no weapon, and no ID. At 1830hrs Alpha Company 72 element with Command Post are moving out for the Night Defense Position at BS628433 and the 23 element is at BS617429. At 1943hrs Alpha Company the 82 element is at BS615435 and the 23 element is at BS617429. At 1943hrs Alpha Company reports the 82 element is at BS633405, the 12 element is at BS620425, the 13 element is at BS628418 and the 83 element is at BS627410.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company is at LZ Bronco for their Stand Down. PFC Michael E. Thrush was attached to the 27th Surgical Hospital at 1335hrs.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0720hrs Charlie Company 31 at BS774418 2 VCS CIA attempted to run results is 2 VCS CIA and 61 is moving. At 1008hrs Charlie Company is at BS750532 the 61 element is in contact and request gun ships. 1 PRU Dust Off completed at 1035hrs and Sharks have 3 VC KIA. Charlie Company reports that PFC Ronald Douglas and PFC William Allen was evac to 27th Surgical Hospital.
Delta Company

At 0830hrs Delta Company reports their location at BS770595. At 1000hrs Delta Company reports their location at BS760532. At 1130hrs Delta Company at BS760580 engaged 5 NVA with negative finding. At 1240hrs Delta Company at BS760580 had one VC evading male results 1 KIA with Delta Company is now at BS755571. At 1831hrs Delta Company at BS755569 received 2 82mm mortar rounds 3 US WHA (M), 2 remained in field with 1 Bust Off at 1905hrs to Duc Pho. At 1845hrs Delta Company at BS770595 received 2 82mm Mortar rounds and small arms fire with 1 US (M).
Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Liz where Battalion Forward is located and coordinates the Battalion Rear elements and Base Defense element on LZ Liz. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Liz where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 0830hrs Recon Platoon reports their location at BS825397. At 1100hrs Recon Platoon and 1 track at BS7756-BS8244 pick up along the beach no specific grid location negative weapons or ID evac to LZ Bronco. At 1250hrs Recon Platoon reports their location a BS764528. At 1400hr Delta Company at BS755571 engaged 3 VC evading engaged with results 3 VC KIA, negative weapons or ID. At 1620hrs Recon at BS772513 have 3 VC evading engaged results 3 VC KIA negative weapons or ID. At 1800hrs Recon at BS772515 has 1 VC CIA evac to Duc PHO negative ID or weapon. At 1830hrs Recon at BS772508 engaged 14 VC evading with results 1 VC KIA with negative weapons or ID. At 2140hrs Recon at BS774509 received automatic weapon and small arms fire with hand grenades and returned fire and scrambled results contact broken at this time with negative assessment. Recon reports their Night Defense Position is now at 773508.
