Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0445hrs 1-20 Infantry Radar targets at 0210hrs 8 to 10 stationary personnel were spotted at BS731462 with 8 HE round fired by the Artillery 155mm. At 1250hrs 1-20 Infantry requests Area of Operations extension from BS700480 to BS700500 to BS752500 to BS762480 from DATE/TIME 290600 to 300600hrs purpose combat operations in reaction to intelligence that an estimated 30 VC are in the area approved by CPT Roberts.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
April 28, 1970
Alpha Company continued to use Patrol Bases and saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. Alpha Company did turn in 2 male detainees to Military Intelligence.
Bravo Company
April 28, 1970
At 0815hrs Bravo Company 35 element pick up 5 females detainee age 31 to 37 all dressed in black and PF says the ID false at gird BS792449 and sent to MACV. The Bravo 58 element at 1523hrs is on Road Security. The 38 element received sniper fire at BS810427 called in 81 to fire on enemy fire at 1844hrs, and fired artillery also checked area after Artillery and 81 fires, completed with negative results.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0707hrs Charlie Company reports the 06 element has closed on LZ Liz and the 56 element is moving out on Mine sweep at BS765437. At 2012hrs Charlie Company all snaked in location the 36 element in BS760435 to BS776439.
Delta Company
April 28, 1970
Delta Company set up patrol bases and searches their Area of Operation. At 0915hrs Delta Company reports Day Logger positions 33 and 70 element is at BS776400, the 93 and 73 elements are at BS768388 with the 53 element is at BS744403. At 1110hrs one US will be going into the Rear, while blowing bunker he received frag wound to shoulder line #145. At 1924hrs Delta Company 97 element to snake contact with approximately 6 enemy personnel at BS766367, called in 81mm’s, negative findings, check area again a first light enemy 400 meters east of 97 snake location. Delta Company 97 element engaged them; the enemy then evaded to the south. PFC Theodore Reid was evac. Delta Company reports PVT Joseph Coroh was treated at the Battalion Aid Station for Frag wound in left shoulder.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 4.2 Platoon has no report today. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 1248hrs Recon Platoon reports Recon has closed on LZ Liz. At 1940hrs Recon Platoon found at BS747597 1 trip wire booby trap of C-Ration can with C-4, nails and blew it in place.
