Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Cork and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations in OPERATION VERNON LAKE II.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0815hrs E Troop at BS752501 reports 1 US KIA with 2 WHA with APC hit mine. E Troop reports CPL DANIEL PORRAS FLORES LISTED AS KIA. At 0800hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer reports at BS882306, Mine Sweep south found a piece of tin lying on left side of road about 100 meters north of Bridge 105 and when the tin was picked up a grenade went off with negative casualties. At 1055hrs Charlie Company 39 Engineer reports from LZ Bronco to Chu Lai and at 1100hrs Delta Company 19 Engineer reports the Road is open from LZ Bronco to Bon Song. 1-20 Infantry Rear reports PFC Ronald D. Bishop was injured and evac to 312th Evac Hospital at 1615hrs with low back pain. PFC John H. Fraeb was sick and evac to 312th Evac Hospital at 1730hrs with possible Hepatitis.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company at 0900hrs engaged 1 VC evading negative results at BS495603. At0940hrs Alpha Company reports their locations Command Post (-) at BS485610, 21 and 51 at BS485615, 91 at BS492602 with 92 ambush location at BS4826618. At 1022hrs vicinity BS482607 engaged 1 VC evading negative results and found and destroyed 3 huts. At 1248hrs Alpha Company location is at BS485605 found a mess area possible Command Post area with a note book with maps charting of helicopters. Alpha Company observed 3 VC leaving a possible mortar position called in Artillery. At 1649hrs Alpha Company Night Defense Positions Command Post (-) at BS485610, 51 and 61 is at BS485615 with 91 located at BS493602.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Cork. Activity was Very light in the Area of Operation.

Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Cork where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Cork. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Cork where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). At 0940hrs Recon Platoon reports their location Recon (-) at BS496592 and Recon 2nd squad at BS494595. At 1654hrs Recon Platoon reports that they have closed on LZ Cork.
