Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0735hrs MACV Duc Pho Advisor to the PRU hit by booby trap vicinity grid BS762435, Urgent Dust Off 1 US with multiple frag wounds. Booby trap was a can of Petna with pressure release device located on a trail, Bird #82 completed at 0751hrs. At 0750hrs MACV Duc Pho while moving into objective area detonated a booby trap can of Petna pressure release results 1 US WIA (traumatic amputation of feet) Dusted Off to LZ Bronco at 0800hrs. At 0905hrs AD-31, PRU found small fenced off area believed to be a minefield. Negative booby trap where found, engaged area with M-779 and frag grenades in same area found 5 bunkers. Also 1 bunker had a tunnel inside with trap door, destroyed, found 1 hammock and some clothes along with 1 AK clip full, 1 homemade rucksack, 5 pounds of rice and some eating utensils, 1 green VC uniform, all this was found near vicinity BS766418. At 1350hrs Minuteman 18 (708) is on station for resupply. At 1815hrs Mo Duc MACV requests 1 priority Dust Off at BS735653 for 2 Vietnamese civilians with gunshot wounds to the neck and back # 89 completed at 1835hrs. At 2031hrs TMF Wink at 1955hrs String 292 Target C unknown number of stationary personnel with negative metal confirmation engaged at 2025hrs end of Fire Mission could not obtain clearance from Nghia Hanh. Legend: 1st Platoon 88, 2nd Platoon 79, 3rd Platoon 39, 4th Platoon 17, CO-37.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued the use of saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0722hrs Alpha Company in Patrol Bases Command Post with 4th and 1st Platoons is at BS677529. 1st and 2nd Platoon is at BS663565 and 3rd Platoon at vicinity BS642564. At 1000hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon patrol at vicinity BS663565 requested Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese female with malaria, bird #88 brought to Quang Ngai complete at 1055hrs. At 1135hrs Alpha Company Command Post with 4th Platoon in Patrol Base vicinity BS687535 and the 1st Platoon patrol is at BS679528. At 1831hrs Alpha Company Command Post and 4th 1st 2nd Platoons now in Night Defense Position vicinity BS667534, 1st Platoon ambush vicinity BS658568, 2nd Platoon ambush at BS642564, 3rd Platoon vicinity BS642565 and 3rd Platoon ambush at BS641559.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0635hrs the 2nd Platoon moving out to BS760423 and at 1126hrs closed back on LZ Liz. 1LT Frank W. Korona was evac to the 91st Evac Hospital.
Charlie Company
March 27, 1971
Charlie Company continued their multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0716hrs Charlie Company all elements in Patrol Bases Command Post and 2nd Platoon at BS711454, 1st Platoon is at BS708448, 3rd Platoon is at 717462 and the 4th Platoon is at LZ Liz. At 1610hrs Charlie Company request a Routine Dust Off for 1 US temp 102, stomach cramps, nasal congestion, and muscle cramps, Dust Off #89 completed at 1638hrs. At1845hrs Charlie Company ran an VIP program and two males (10 and 12 years of age) reported to Charlie Company Kit Carson Scout that VC had abducted them yesterday and held them for 2 hours grid BS736448, the males managed to escape 2 hours later. They stated that the VC intended to take them into the mountains and the VC then moved to grid BS747438, where it appeared that they were living for awhile and armed with 2 AK47 and a 45 cal Pistol. A 1950hrs Charlie Company reports locations 2nd Platoon at BS713451, 1st Platoon at BS708448, 1st Platoon ambushes at BS701454, 2nd Platoon ambushes at BS711452, 3rd Platoon ambushes at BS717462 and 3rd Platoon ambush at BS719463.
Delta Company

At 0735hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon is moving to Patrol Base vicinity BS684514. At 0815hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon Patrol is moving to BS680491, 79B Patrol is moving out for BS665480. At 1145hrs Delta Company at grid BS662497 requested routine Dust Off for 1 US suspected of malaria, medic for 3rd platoon, completed at 1255hrs Bird #89. At 1635hrs Delta Company 2nd and 4th platoon and Command Post moving for BS675493. At 1900hrs Delta Company while en route to their ambush location vicinity BS688507, 3rd platoon found 3 fresh graves 3-5 days old, each grave contained 1 military age male killed by multiple frag wounds, the size of the wounds indicated artillery killed them. Two makes where dressed in back and green and the three one was dressed in all green. Some of wounds had been dressed with homemade dressing. Credit goes to Alpha Battery 3-16 Artillery at LZ Snoopy. At 1945hrs Delta Company while moving to their night location vicinity BS695506, the 3rd platoon spotted 3 VC with weapons in the open and engaged with artillery at grid BS692517, one element of the 3rd platoon again sweeping the area with assist of illumination. Results 1 rucksack NVA, which contained 1 mirror, 1 comb and 1 belt with rice bag attached, further search with negative finding. At 2030hrs Delta Company location that evening 1st platoon ambush at BS648516 and 2 platoon ambush at BS675506 and Command Post and 2nd and 4th platoon located at BS675493.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0608hrs Recon is moving out to BS769415. At 0645hrs Recon in their pre planned locations at BS767424 and BS769415. At 1120hrs Recon has closed on LZ Liz. At 1310hrs 4.2 Platoon on OP Wink requested Urgent Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese male with multiple frag wounds to legs from booby trap bird # 89 completed at 1326hrs.
