Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0035hrs PF 303, vicinity BS925225 received 4 rounds 82mm mortar, results 2 civilian KIA, 2 civilian WIA, not US confirmed and return fire with 5 rounds 105mm Illumination. Charlie Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Bronco with the plan closing of LZ Bronco. At 0030hrs received 12-15 rounds 60mm mortar fire, with the 6-7 landed on the bunker line bunker 59, 6 landed in POL Dump, one man was wounded by a mortar fragment in this eye. He was Dust Off, Urgent at 0050hrs to 91 Evac in Chu Lai (line# 340, Adams, Terry). At 0200hrs PF 181 vicinity BS798380, at 0115hrs VC entered refugee camp and blew up some houses resulting in casualties are not known at this time. No US confirmed, return fire with 5 rounds of 81 Illumination. At 0207hrs Alpha Company LZ Liz reports bunkers 7, 8, and 9 inspected by LT Waugh and all found satisfactory. At 0930hrs South OP IOS sighted 5 VC with packs and weapons and what looked like a POW, vicinity BS753364. MACV Duc Pho alerted and they diverted AMC and guns to the area, Red Baron 24 is on station and also flew over the area. Gun ships broke station at 1045hrs with negative results. At 1230hrs MACV Duc Pho, while on Operation PF 172, PF 278, NPFF and PRU received heavy small arms and M-79 fire, negative casualties either friendly or enemy, Gun ships on station expended with negative results vicinity BS854363. At 1430hrs 1-20 Infantry Helix 35 is on station at this time and broke station at 1440hrs. At 1545hrs 3-4 ARVN Urgent Dust Off for 1 Vietnamese with stomach wound contact grid BS328498 with VC squad LZ vicinity BS327495. At 1700hrs 4 ARVN Recon at 1430hrs vicinity BS325446 while in a search and clear mission made contact with 3 NVA resulting in 1 ARVN WIA, 3 NVA KIA and 1 CIA carbine. At 1715hrs Warlord 39 leaving Box 51, results were that he found 7 hootches and bunkers, 5 hootches were destroyed also saw heavy cultivated rice paddies. At 2240hrs Warlord Black in Nighthawk box 62 and breaks at 2320hrs for POL with negative findings. At 0025hrs Warlord is back and in Box 60K then at 0107hrs out of Box 60X with negative findings. At 0120hrs Warlord is now in Box 64 and breaking station at 0210hrs with negative findings. At 2320hrs Nui Vong, Alert started at 2300hrs achieved 100% at 2304hrs and fired 81mm HE, Illumination Defense Targets and fired H & I with M-79 and back to 50% at 2316hrs. Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1101hrs Alpha Company Command Post and Command Post 1st Platoon leaving LZ Liz at this time and moving to their Patrol Base at BS740397. Alpha Company reports their night locations 1st Platoon and Command Post in Night Defense Position at BS739395 with ambush at BS734397.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco and the Brigade move North to LZ Dottie and the 4 Battalion of 21 Infantry returning home.
Charlie Company
June 27, 1971
Charlie Company will continue their Security Mission for LZ Bronco with the plan closing of LZ Bronco. At 0030hrs received 12-15 rounds 60mm mortar fire, with the 6-7 landed on the bunker line bunker 59, 6 landed in POL Dump, one man was wounded by a mortar fragment in this eye. He was Dust Off, Urgent at 0050hrs to 91 Evac in Chu Lai (line# 340, Adams, Terry). Also 10,000 gals of POL tank was punctured, negative fire at this time. Also LZ Bronco reports have received 3 magazines AK fire in front of bunker 61, counter mortar fire from LZ Liz on SEL 818410. SP4 Terry Adams was evac to 91st Evac Hospital.
Delta Company

At 0640hrs Delta Company elements are combined and moving to LZ Liz. At 1023hrs Delta Company on LZ Liz and taking over the Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 1826hrs Delta Company 1st Platoon ambush is moving to vicinity GW731448. At 2040hrs Recon at grid BS737445, at 2015hrs point man saw 5 VC with rucksacks and 1 weapon engaged at 75 to 100 meters VC evaded to the east. Delta Company element that was 50 meters behind Recon saw the VC evading, they engaged at 50 meters, both elements swept the area with negative results. At 2005hrs Delta Company has 1st Platoon ambush is at BS734397.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0615hrs Recon is moving to area of last night contact and then to LZ Liz. At 0700hrs Recon is moving to LZ Liz from vicinity BS733448. At 1835hrs Recon is moving out to BS729459. At 2040hrs Recon at grid BS737445, at 2015hrs point man saw 5 VC with rucksacks and 1 weapon engaged at 75 to 100 meters VC evaded to the east. Delta Company element that was 50 meters behind Recon saw the VC evading, they engaged at 50 meters, both elements swept the area with negative results. At 2125hrs Recon has closed into preplanned Night Defense Position vicinity BS7299459.
