Headquarters and Headquarter Company
June 27, 1969

Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Battalion Headquarters is located at LZ Liz as they continued their Mission and working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations.

Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of providing general support for the Battalion. At 1430hrs Base Defense found one NVA KIA dead approximately 3 days 1 RPG launcher believed to be part of the element that made the last attack on LZ Bronco BS826388. LZ Bronco Base Defense observed 4 sampans at BS847398 engaged with 4.2 mortars and artillery. At 2145hrs Base Defense spotted 3-5 VC at BS836393 and engaged with 4.2 and Artillery with negative assessment.

 

Alpha Company
June 27, 1969

At 0800hrs Alpha Company is at BS812425 and will conduct a Recon in Force to BS806424 and set up their Day Logger and at 1800hrs Alpha Company is moving to BS785432 found 1 NVA in grave, green uniform, KBA. At 1825 Alpha Company is at BS801429 Alpha Company Night Defense Position is at BS793435 with 36 at BS785438, and 95 BS792447.

 

Bravo Company
June 27, 1969

Bravo Company at 1000hrs moved into their Day Logger and use saturation patrolling in their Area of Operation and at 2006hrs moved into their Night Defense Position at BS721438, 35 BS719442, 94 BS715435 and 96 BS724447.

 

Charlie Company
June 27, 1969

At 1000hrs Charlie Company at BS805475 they are in their Day Logger and use multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 2006hrs Charlie Company moved into their Night Defense Position at BS805478, 74 BS810473 and 34 BS814466.

 

Delta Company
June 27, 1969

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. Delta Company will continued to provide Security of the area until the fortifications are completed at Bridge 402 U and when the RF is able to secure the Bridge.

 

Echo Company
June 27, 1969

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. At 0725hrs Recon Platoon on move to vicinity BS829305 found a Mortar post could be the one which hit the southern part of Fire Support Base Bronco.
