Headquarters and Headquarter Company
January 27, 1968

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0815hrs Late Entry 1-20 Infantry reported north of bridge 104 at 2345hrs 26 January 1968 was checked out at 0730hrs 27 January 1968, negative results. At 1012hrs 1-20 Infantry reports ¼ ton vehicle hit a child at base of LZ Thunder, Dr Examination revealed deep cuts but no broken bones, and child is sent to 6th Support. At 1810hrs 1-20 Infantry Bridge 97 2 VCS pick up and detainee, male, no ID and they where wandering around.

Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 2015hrs Major Bell 1-20 Infantry reports road closed from LZ Carentan to LZ Bronco at 2015hrs. No element of 1-20 Infantry left in LZ Carentan.

 

Alpha Company
January 27, 1968

Alpha Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Thunder and used multiple patrolling and night ambushes in their Area of Operation. At 1105hrs Alpha Company has one man wounded received minor wound from booby trap and was treated in the field by medic and evac is not need grid BS835306.

 

Bravo Company
January 27, 1968

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ OD and continued to use multiple patrolling and night ambushes in their Area of Operation.

 

Charlie Company
January 27, 1968

Charlie Company at 0702hrs has joined the net with the 198th Infantry Brigade. At 1335hrs Convoy Charlie Company 120 vehicles from Duc Pho run into 150 demonstrators at Quang Nagai, MP assisted convoy proceeding slowly this way. At 1434hrs Charlie Company has closed on LZ Dottie relayed to the 11th Infantry Brigade Charlie Company becomes OPCON to the 198th Light Infantry Brigade (Task Force Barker and 4-3 Infantry are OPCON to the 198th Infantry Brigade).

 

Delta Company
January 27, 1968

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for Key Bridges in their Area of Operation and conducts patrolling in their Area of Operation.

 

Echo Company
January 27, 1968

Echo Company and 4.2 platoon and radar platoon where located on LZ Thunder to provide direct support to the Battalion. At 1735hrs 1-20 Infantry reports ambush sites for 27 January BS885295 and BS884283.
