Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1800hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC reports Command and Control Helicopter pick up 7 VCS from Delta Company and evac to LZ Bronco.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0350hrs LZ Bronco Base Defense at BS834396 lights spotted along river engaged target with Artillery and quad 50’s lights spotted off and on northeast of LZ Bronco negative assessment. At 0810hrs Charlie Company 39 Engineer received 8 rounds of small arms fire with no casualties and continued Mine Sweep. At 0830hrs Charlie Company 39 Engineer at BS722580 found 1 Chi Com hand grenade placed under rock in middle of road. Hand grenade set to detonate when rock was moved, blew in place.
Alpha Company

At 1020hrs Alpha Company elements locations 51 at LZ Dragon and the Command Post is at BS614583. At 1212hrs Alpha Company is located in the vicinity BS631604. At 1335hrs Alpha Company at BS643602 received 3 sniper rounds and destroys 3 huts in the area. At 2000hrs Alpha Company reports the 51 element is at LZ Dragon with the Command Post at BS643602, the 63 element is at BS644602, the 82 element is at BS642601 with the 34 element is at BS642604. SP Clifford Long and PFC Charlie Haynes were awarded their Purple Heart Date need? PFC Larry O. Beasley was evac sick to the 3152th Evac Hospital at 1545hrs.

Charlie Company

Charlie Company has the Security Mission for LZ Liz with 61 at LZ Dragon. At 1500hrs Charlie Company has an element at BS794465 detained 2 VC suspects which will be sent in to Military Intelligence. At 2000hrs Charlie Company is at LZ Liz with 61 at LZ Dragon and the 31 element is at BS775418.
Delta Company

At 0955hrs Delta Company reports pick up Zone at 0827hrs BS623554 to Landing Zone BS755595 PZ at 0910hrs and LZ at 0915hrs Combat Assault completed and Landing Zone was cold. At 1020hrs Delta Company reports their location D31 at BS756600, 61 at BS762595 and 81 at BS753591. At 1020hrs PRU picked one woman, she is on work list. She says Company size VC in 2 villages 80 northeast of BS765598. At 1200hrs Delta Company reports their locations 31, 61 and Command Post at BS785595 with 81 at BS758593. At 1230hrs Delta Company interpreter talk to Vietnamese woman who said 20 VC with weapons and Rucksacks saw out Combat Assault and ran north of the location. At 1800hrs 1-20 Infantry pick up 7 VCS from Delta Company at BS795465, BS769505, BS754532, BS772502 and BS775547. At 1900hrs Delta Company reported their Night Defense Position at BS768593 and the 81 element in night ambush at location vicinity of BS766598. At 1915hrs Delta Company 81 snake received 7 rounds small arms fire and 2 82mm Mortars rounds, results 2 US WHA with frag in knee and chin (M). At 2020hrs ambush is called back into Night Defense Position.
Echo Company

Echo Company is located at LZ Liz where Battalion Forward is located and coordinates the Battalion Rear elements and Base Defense element on LZ Liz. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Liz where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). Recon Platoon reports that they are on their Stand Down at LZ Bronco.
