Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0555hrs LZ Bronco Base Defense spotted unknown size element at BS849398 fired 12 rounds of artillery with negative assessment. At 0615hrs LRRP Nevada was inserted at BS598461, LZ cold. At 0835hrs Nevada reports their location at BS597458. At 1300hrs 1-20 Infantry request Dust Off for Vietnamese women injured by flying rock that (2 ½ ton) truck had kick up, Dust Off completed at 1345hrs. At 1505hrs LRRP Nevada at BS590452 spotted 2 NVA with 1 weapon, in camouflaged hut, Request permission to CIA, permission granted by S-2. At 1650hrs LRRP Nevada report contact at BS593466 scrambled gun ships and at 1710hrs LRRP Nevada was extracted. At 2005hrs MACV reports VC Company at BS853382, had explosives Mission to hit LZ Bronco.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 2000hrs LZ Bronco Base Defense AN/PPS-5 spotted 7-10 VC at BS839389, 15 rounds 81 mortar, 16 rounds artillery and 8 rounds of WP after fire negative sighting. At 2245hrs LZ Bronco Base Defense spotted 1 VC at BS835388 fired 4 rounds of 81 Mortar. At 2300hrs Base Defense spotted 3-4 VC at BS841390, fired 9 rounds 81 and 16 artillery rounds, VC where moving together. At 2240hrs Fire Fly at BS900272 they spotted sampan and sunk sampan observed 1 VC on bank and engage with unknown results.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company is OPCON to the 4-21 Infantry. At 0910hrs Alpha Company is located at BS671296 with the 21 element moving southeast along path they were ambush by 5 to 7 NVA results in 1 US KHA line S6316. At 1045hrs Alpha Company at BS666896 21 at BS671296, Reference to Contact Alpha Company Point KIA element didn’t recover weapon believe NVA had 1 M-16, later the weapon was recovered. At 1050hrs Alpha Company at BS664296 observed 2 NVA while securing Patrol Base in NVA uniforms with weapons engaged with negative results. At 1110hrs Alpha Company request Tracker Team Command and Control will pick up in 25 minutes OK, 4-3 Infantry can not pick up as Alpha Company 1-20 will pick up. At 1415hrs Alpha Company reports their locations at BS668297 and BS658269. At 1600hrs Alpha Company is located at BS667297 and by 1745hrs at BS670295 into their Night Defense Position. PFC ALFRED WILLIAM SPINNER LISTED AS KHA. SP4 Donald J. Dietler was evac to 23rd Medical Battalion.
Bravo Company

At 1005hrs Bravo Company located at BS718462. At 1905hrs Bravo Company at BS722460 found rock cave with 2 to 3 rooms, hold 1 squad BS724427 cave had 3 rooms, hold 15 to 20 people, 1 NVA canteen, Bag of rice found in a cave at BS726455 and cave with 1 large room.
Charlie Company

At 0015hrs Charlie Company at their Night Defense Position has 1 US Dust Off for stomach pains. At 1810hrs Charlie Company location are at BS769402, 31 at BS769391, 21 at BS772404 and 51 at BS747405.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security mission for LZ Liz. At 1205hrs Delta Company reports that they have a element at BS782476. At 1415hrs Delta Company reports their location at BS752436. At 1610hrs Delta Company has closed on LZ Liz. At 1810hrs Delta Company reports their night locations 51 at Bridge 402U, 55 at BS752436, 53 at BS754420, 33 at BS754415, and 34 at BS750402.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz.
