Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Dottie and will continued to work with ARVN units their Area of Operations. At 0724hrs 1-20 Infantry request dogs for 1-20 Infantry to be picked up by utility ship in afternoon, calls out dogs when time of pickup is confirmed. At 0939hrs Late Report 1-20 Infantry TOC a 0825hrs OP #1 at BS463780 observed 100 VC requested artillery, completed firing at 0840hrs, have FAC in the air at this time checking the area. At 1035hrs FAC observed 7 VC KIA, 2 villagers partially destroyed and 2 hootches destroyed. The VC where moving toward the north and were wearing white hats and black PPJ, could not tell if they had weapons. At 1325hrs Message to 1-20 Infantry the platoon of engineers from Charlie Company 26 Engineer departed Duc Pho approximately 1115hrs for LZ Dottie and closed at 1400hrs. At 1330hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC requested 2 Gun Ships be located at LZ Dottie for use by 1-20 Infantry if needed. If this isn’t possible, request permission to get gun ship support from Chu Lai, purpose of this request it to cut the time element is down until we get the support we need when.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 1350hrs Military Police at 919197 Convoy was ambushed south of Sa Huynh, 1 vehicle damage but is able to run, received small arms fire and automatic weapons fire, negative casualties and fire came from the west side of the road. At 2120hrs Late Entry Bravo Sector Bunker #25 reports 4 Vietnamese outside the wire to be carrying a bag, sent Military Police to location, detained 1 Vietnamese female, will interrogate and continue observing area will check at first light.

Bravo Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Buff. Bravo Company at 1637hrs, location BS541836 received 1 round sniper fire from Northeast, negative Causalities responded with Artillery fire.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company Conducted a Recon in Force in their Area of Operation and at 0915hrs at BS580845. At 1205hrs Charlie Company reports their location at BS580844. At 1813hrs Charlie Company reports their location at BS571839 with LP at BS56838 and BS577839.
Delta Company

Delta Company (-) located at BS571829 and they continued their Search and Destroy operations in their Area of Operations. At 1205hrs Delta Company reports their location at BS596837. At 1813hrs Delta Company reports their location BS571829.
Echo Company
September 26, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Dottie where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Dottie. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Dottie where they continue to provide direct fire support for the (1-20 Infantry Battalion). Recon Platoon reports that they have a Security Mission on LZ Dottie and the 1-20 Infantry.
