Battalion Forward: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and continued their working with the ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0712hrs Battalion Command Message is given to all units on cipher. At 1820hrs Brigade to 1-20 Infantry we will received tomorrow 1 M-60, 1 CEV, 1 M543 Cargo Carrier, we will extract 1 M-543 and 1 D7 Bulldozer with Bull Blade both combat losses. At 2015hrs Delta Company we have a trip flare go off in front of bunker 18. We shot illumination and engaged with small arms fire along with M-60 with no results.

Battalion Rear: Battalion Rear continued their Mission for providing general support for the Battalion.

Alpha Company
October 26, 1969

At 0815hrs Alpha Company we are on the move back north at later date to clear area that was too wet to clear. Alpha Company we are at grid BS798503.At 0957hrs Alpha Company urgent Dust Off one US with heat exhaustion (James O’Kelly) completed at 1002hrs. At 1540hrs Alpha Company Land Clearing report: 20 acres cleared (BS804488-BS806489-BS811494) no mines, 1 APC is dead lined because the engine blew up by not by a mine. Alpha Company we are at grid BS814478 and still working the Security Mission for the Clearing Operation.

Bravo Company
October 26, 1969

At 0710hrs Bravo Company Priority Dust Off requested 1 Vietnamese with gunshot wounds in the leg and head he received sometime last night complete 0754hrs. Bravo Company is conducting multiple sweeps and clear operations and some patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 1242hrs our 13 element received a heavy volume of small arms fire at grid BS797419 results no casualties. Gun ships scrambled. At 1320hrs Bravo Company at BS783453 reports 1 Vietnamese Civilian detonate a VC anti personnel mine with results 1 Vietnamese Civilian WIA (E), Dust Off was completed by Command and Control Helicopter at 1324hrs to LZ Bronco. At 2000hrs Bravo Company at BS783433 enemy using loud speakers at BS785437 telling troop to Chieu Hoi, engaged with Artillery and Small Arms Fire with unknown results. Message: "GI’s if you want to fight come out to the strip but don’t take the people have no food or land there". "Strip means the beach area by the south China Sea. At 2027hrs Bravo Company we are receiving small arms fire from vicinity of BS783436, no casualties.

Charlie Company
October 26, 1969

At 1048hrs Charlie Company at BS818463 engaged 1 VC with small arms fire with results 1 VC KIA, Negative ID or Weapon. At 1205hrs Charlie Company 73 element and Command Post at BS814457, 93 at grid BS804467, the 13 element is at grid BS813453 and the 83 element at BS818468. At 1720hrs Charlie Company all element closed on the 83 element at BS818468.

Delta Company

Security Mission will continue their Security Mission for LZ Liz and all snakes the evening location on Road.

Echo Company
October 26, 1969

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. At 0800hrs 4.2 Platoon reports Schedule Missions 15, Observe Mission 1 total expend 63 HE rounds. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon has a Security Mission for LZ Liz.
