Forward Area: (1-20 Infantry Headquarters) is located at LZ Liz and will continue to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0840hrs Boxcar 29 (Chinook) broke station after completing lift to Q Company. At 1200hrs MACV Mo Duc, picked up Chieu Hoi 25 November 1970 vicinity BS7252, Brigade S-5 notified, propaganda tape made to be played ASAP. At 1924hrs Q Company radar sighting vicinity BS679596, 3 to 4 stationary personnel, Fire Mission was cleared and engaged with 22 HE rounds of 155mm Artillery. At 2126hrs MACV Red Out rice cache found vicinity BS754614, by NPFF, extracted 200 100 pound bags of unpolished and 10 100 bags of polished rice. At 2145hrs Blue Ghost request clearance of Box 69 approved THL, reports negative sightings. At 2210hrs MACV Operation Day 27 November, reference 7361 (lower left corner of grid) Operations begin at 0700hrs 143 RF Platoon along with 2 MACV advisors will link up with Charlie Company. And then move along trail vicinity BS714606 and Highway 1 to their location Mission: to check out intelligence concerning the location of suspected holes and the possibility of District Level personnel at these locations and Notified Charlie Company of the above at 2220hrs. Legend: 1st Platoon 12-18, 2nd Platoon 62-68, 3rd Platoon 82-88, 4th Platoon 32-38 and CO 44.

Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.

 

Alpha Company
November 26, 1970

Alpha Company will continue with their Security Mission for LZ Liz.

 

Bravo Company
November 26, 1970

Bravo Company vicinity BS745561, 2nd Platoon while on patrol received 3-5 rounds of small arms fire from 3 VC 300 meters to their south. They returned fire, and continued their pursued, believe that 1 of the 3 was wounded and they heard movement in the mangrove and Recon by Fire. Two were wearing all blue and 1 was wearing gray, they had negative packs, multiple ambushes in their Area of Operation tonight.

 

Charlie Company
November 26, 1970

At 1500hrs Charlie Company requests Urgent Dust Off vicinity 736619, 2 RF wounded by small arms fire, 1 hit in stomach, light frag to body and legs, 1 hit in thigh and the US with frag wounds # 274 Anderson completed at 1529hrs. At 1635hrs Charlie Company 143rd RF Company working with Charlie Company received sniper fire vicinity BS736619. Believe to be 2 snipers firing semi automatic fire from BS735620 to BS735619. 2 RF and 1 US wounded RF wounded by sniper and the US wounded when a friendly M-79 as he maneuvered on sniper location, the US has been released for Duty. At 1708hrs Charlie Company Requested Urgent Dust Off vicinity BS730635, 1 Vietnamese wounded in arm while evading, sniper fire stopped, person is a VC suspect, completed at 1730hrs. At 1737hrs Charlie Company vicinity BS730635, Command Post element while maneuvering on snipers location of earlier contact spotted 2 personnel evading to the north. 1 Vietnamese female wearing purple and black, 1 male wearing white and black, he had a weapon and was believed to be the sniper. Female was wounded in upper right arm and evac she was approximately 35 years old and the male was believed to have been hit, but he evaded north. While pursuing him they received 1 incoming round from the east. At 1600hrs Charlie Company vicinity BS738613, the 143rd RF detained 3 Vietnamese, all were questioned and decided to send them in. 3 Vietnamese, 2 females 35 and 45, along with 1 male 49, will be evac to Mo Duc, the 2nd Platoon was with them. At 1930hrs Charlie Company reports their Night Defense Position is at BS737618 with 3rd Platoon ambush at BS736622 and 1st Platoon ambush at BS738619. Charlie Company reports SP4 Asbjorn E. Anderson at 1530hrs treated and released from B 23 Medical with Frag Wound Hip.

 

Delta Company
November 26, 1970

Delta Company continued to work their Area of Operation with patrolling. At 0705hrs Delta Company 1st, 2nd and 3rd Platoon closed on their Patrol Base at BS668560. At 1935hrs Delta Company Command Post 3rd and 4th Platoons in their Night Defense Position at BS663570, 2nd Platoon at BS664561, and 1st Platoon BS666564.

 

Echo Company
November 26, 1970

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the coordination responsibility for Base Defense. At 1050hrs Recon Platoon vicinity BS735626 in their Day Logger found 1 Chi Com blasting cap, with wire attached to it and some pieces of plastic. It was no set up as a Booby trap and was destroyed in place.
