Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0228hrs LZ Liz is on practice Alert rated satisfactory. At 0255hrs SFC Wright inspected Bunkers # 5, 16, 17 and 6 all satisfactory At 0530hrs LZ Liz LT Kalish inspected Bunker # 7 and LT Tobin bunker 5 and found satisfactory. At 1040hrs Mo Duc request Urgent Dust Off for PF who hit mine, bird #57 completed at 1130hrs at BS760530. At 1244hrs Commanding General visit LZ Liz interested in VC/NVA activity, discussed future Operations of Mo Duc Defense Force. At 1500hrs Warlord 4 is on station for Air Calvary Box 67. At 1509hrs Dolphin 13 is on station and broke station at 1850hrs. At 2000hrs PF 278 made contact with unknown size VC unit result 1 PF WIA enemy casualties unknown. At 2037hrs TMF activation of GS6 B with stationary target and engaged at 2047hrs with 6 HE 4.2 Mortars. At 2056hrs 1-20 Infantry Mechanical Ambushes out Alpha 8, Bravo 6, Charlie, and Recon 0 for a total of 17 out. At 2310hrs String 296 C have 3 sampans moving east to west. Legend: 1st Platoon 34, 2nd Platoon 05, 3rd Platoon 89, 4th Platoon 78, CO-07.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company

Alpha Company continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation with some Daylight Ambushes out. At 0610hrs Alpha Company 2nd Platoon ambush will remain at BS711500. At 1140hrs Alpha Company bought one 105mm round from Vietnamese male, 13 for 3 cans C-Rations and blew it in place. At 1150hrs Alpha Company found at BS695513, 1st Platoon in hedgerow 2 rooms tunnel, trench used in last 2-3 days, possible Booby Trap Factory. At 1255hrs Alpha Company 3rd Platoon bought 1 155mm round, and 1 105mm round from male 10 for 3 C Ration cans. At 2003hrs Alpha Company 1st Platoon Night Defense Position BS718508, 3rd Platoon at BS722497 and Command Post, 2nd and 4th Platoons at BS718508 with 2nd Platoon ambush at BS712511.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company continued to use Patrol bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 1805hrs Bravo Company Command Post bought 8 M-79 round from kids 7 to 9 for 10 bars of soap all rounds where blown in place. At 1957hrs Bravo Company all elements in their Night Defense Positions 2nd Platoon at BS713436, Command Position with 3rd Platoon at BS707432 and 1st and 4th Platoons at BS729459.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued to use Patrol Bases and multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0645hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon going to rice at BS660572. At 1245hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon engaged 2 VC/NVA with weapons found food, documents possible booby trap BS644565. At 1408hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon moving out to BS660555. At 1549hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon found old 51caliber pit and 2 side tunnels at BS658557. At 1755hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon add finding 5-M-16, 1 M-60 ammo cans, 1 AK 47, 2 M-16 magazines, cooking stuff etc. At 1925hrs Charlie Company Command Post saw Artillery impact on grid BS662581 form Dragon, mortar flashes from Wood Stock. At 1953hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon at BS647565 ambushes, 2nd Platoon and Command Post at BS645564, 1st Platoon at BS657566. At 2037hrs Charlie Company 1st Platoon receiving harassing fire 2 M79 rounds and 6 AK 47 fire at BS652560. 1st Platoon set up ambush at BS665562 with 3 Mechanical Ambush out.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Liz. At 0228hrs LZ Liz is on practice Alert rated satisfactory. At 0255hrs SFC Wright inspected Bunkers # 5, 16, 17 and 6 all satisfactory At 0320hrs Bunker 5, 6 and 8 OK bunker 7 has no one awake. At 2215hrs Bunker 13 and 14 OK and Quad 50 and 12 didn’t know password.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0845hrs Recon found Bunker 6’ X 8’ in heavy brush vicinity BS667555 blew in place. At 2038hrs Recon change in Night Defense Position to BS681513 with ambush cancelled.
