Headquarters and Headquarter Company

Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Liz and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 0330hrs Saber Black is on station for Box # 45. Spotted sampan and raft vicinity BS658579 broke station at 0410hrs. At 1325hrs AMC is on station (Hornets) for Combat Assault of Delta Company, Bravo Company and Alpha Company. At 1345hrs Minuteman 18 (760) is on station for resupply. At 1645hrs 1-20 Infantry Combat Assault 1st PZ at 1350hrs and last LZ is at 1624hrs. At 2230hrs Saber 40 is broke station with negative findings. Legend: 1st Platoon 88, 2nd Platoon 79, 3rd Platoon 39, 4th Platoon 17, CO-37.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco.
Alpha Company
March 26, 1971
Alpha Company continued to search and sweep their Area of Operation. At 1330hrs Alpha Company made a Combat Assault began 1st Pick up 1330hrs and Last LZ at 1440hrs in area of BS659562. At 2005hrs Alpha Company Command Post and 4th Platoon was at vicinity BS653529,1st and 2nd Platoon BS659562, with 1st Platoon ambush at BS642564, and 3rd Platoon ambush at BS640559 (multiple ambushes).
Bravo Company

At 0655hrs Bravo Company 3rd Platoon at vicinity BS614475 spotted 15 to 20 personnel dressed in black moving along riverbank to the south. Some had packs, and some had weapons, 3rd Platoon engaged with small arms fire at the above grid and called in Artillery, but it was checked fired due to 2 Gun ships in the area (were not requested) negative finding. At 1325hrs Hornets on station for a Combat Assault for Delta, Bravo and Alpha Company with Bravo Company on LZ Liz to take over the Security Mission for LZ Liz.
Charlie Company

Charlie Company continued their multiple patrolling in their Area of Operation. At 0714hrs Charlie Company in their pre planned Patrol Bases Command Post and 2nd Platoon is at BS711454, 1st Platoon at BS708448, 3rd Platoon is at BS717462. At 0845hrs Charlie Company 2nd Platoon patrol is moving out for BS706467 and 1st Platoon patrol is moving to BS706452. At 1955hrs Charlie Company 3rd Platoon patrol is moving to BS714452. At 1937hrs Charlie Company Command Post and 2nd Platoon at BS711454, 1st Platoon at BS708448, with 1st Platoon ambush at BS705448, 3rd Platoon at BS717462, with 3rd Platoon ambush BS716462.
Delta Company

At 1830hrs Delta Company is located in their Night Defense Position at BS675498. At 1915hrs Delta Company 2nd Platoon while searching grid BS669496 found a fighting position approximately 2 weeks old. I had a 2’X 2’ opening and 4’ deep with an attached sleeping position 3’ X 5’ was destroyed. At 2000hrs Delta Company locations Command Post and 2nd and 4th Platoon is at BS669495, 1st platoon at vicinity BS645515, 3rd platoon at vicinity BS675498.
Echo Company

Echo Company headquarters and 4.2 Mortar Platoon is location on LZ Liz, where the 4.2 Platoon providing direct fire support for the Battalion. Echo Company Headquarters has the responsibility for Base Defense. Recon Platoon continued their Security Mission for 1-20 Infantry. At 0640hrs Recon moving to pre planned at location BS701432. At 1030hrs Recon is in their location at vicinity BS757404. At 1725hrs Recon while searching vicinity BS755403 found one Artillery 155 round with smoke grenade fuse and trip wire location in a hedgerow was blown in place. At 1940hrs Recon is in their preplanned night location BS765404.
