Forward Area: 1-20 Infantry Headquarters is located at LZ Thunder and will continued to work with ARVN units in their Area of Operations. At 1429hrs 1-20 Infantry requests 1 swift boat at 0600hrs vicinity BS9526 have operation on beach tomorrow morning, will need boat for about 3 hours, have come up on 1-20 Infantry push for details was notified Swift Boats will be on station at 0600hrs. At 1430hrs Delta Company 19th Engineer reports Vietnamese riding a bicycle hit an M-14 mine approximately 100 meters north of Bridge 116, negative casualties area was swept with negative results. At 1435hrs 1-20 Infantry TOC have intelligence information of sapper squad and tunnels at Area of Operation boundary and request Area of Operation extension. This is for Charlie Company extension from boundary at BS7442 to the BS7437 grid to BS7842 down to Area of Operation Boundary, received information from MACV Request from 270700-272400hrs. At 1750hrs Colonel Crowe to Commanding Officer 1-20 Infantry prepare 1 Platoon of 26 men from Alpha Company for Combat Assault under control of Hurricane 6, Brigade S-2 will take unit CO on Recon at about 0600hrs 27 July 1968, brigade S-2 will provide more information later. At 1758hrs Message Change in plans will conduct Platoon size Combat Assault at 0900hrs using 1 36 man platoon from Alpha Company with the PZ will be LZ Thunder. LZ will be vicinity BS524736. Have a POW captured by Aerial Scout today who will show where approximately 20 weapons are located in a tunnel. At 1845hrs from Colonel Crowe to Charlie Company 26 Engineer have 1 squad of Engineer on stand by no later then 0800hrs 27 July with equipment to blow 1 or more tunnels? To 1-20 Infantry have equipment on standby no later then 0900hrs to search tunnels, Psy Ops team on stand by No later then 0900hrs 27 July 1968. At 2210hrs MACV Mo Duc at 2200hrs received small arms fire and 2 mortars, sent flare ship and sharks to their location.
Rear Area: Battalion Rear continued their Mission of general support for the battalion and continued their Security Mission for LZ Bronco. At 0908hrs 6-11 Artillery observed some cattle coming thru wire of perimeter between 1-20 Infantry and E Troop sector. Notified E Troop and Military Police ask to check out and run cattle out.
Alpha Company
July 26, 1968
Alpha Company will continue with their Security Mission for LZ Thunder. At 0545hrs Alpha Company has ambush at BS833330 engage individuals who walked into the killing zone with weapons with results 1 PF WIA gun shot wound of chest and upper tight call Dust Off. There were eight individuals (ARVN) who were observed but are now at Alpha Location, will hold onto them. They said they were coming from the Red Ball. The PF leader on Bridge #107 told E Troop that the PF had gone out toward Alpha Company location looking for parachute flare. At 1710hrs Alpha Company at BS833323 engaged 1 VC evading results 1 VC WIA, CIA, shot in hip, no Dust Off will evac later to LZ Bronco. At 1810hrs Alpha Company is at BS834323.
Bravo Company

Bravo Company is working with Special Forces on the Security Mission for Special Forces Camp at BA TO.
Charlie Company
July 26, 1968
At 0810hrs Charlie Company is located at BS779414. At 0815hrs Charlie Company at BS777414 detained 1 VCS, about 19 and no ID. At 0852hrs Charlie Company at BS773410 found 2 pair of Khaki pants, 4 pair of black PJ and 1 GI towel plus 1 French canteen, all destroyed. At 1200hrs Charlie Company reports their location at BS773411. At 1800hrs Charlie Company Night Defense Position is at BS763400 with ambushes at BS769388, BS772410 and BS782395.
Delta Company

Delta Company continued their Security Mission for LZ Charlie Brown. At 1800hrs Delta Company (-) located at LZ Charlie Brown with ambushes at BS917231, BS917208, and BS917266.
Echo Company
July 26, 1968
Echo Company is located at LZ Thunder where Battalion Forward is and coordinates with the Battalion Rear Elements and Base Defense elements on LZ Thunder. The 4.2 Platoon is located on LZ Thunder where they continue to provide direct fire support for the Battalion. At 1040hrs Recon Platoon at BS528685 sprung ambush on 3 VC moving southeast from west, 1 VC KIA negative weapon, had pack with 97 Chi Com grenades, will destroy in place. Also have 1 NVA in khaki uniform at BS524660 watching OP.
